BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A man drove into a pole on Dixie Highway in Boca Raton Monday night, causing police to close the roadway for nearly an hour. The man was rushed to Delray Medical Center.
Sources connected to the rescue operation say it’s unclear what led to the single car crash. The man, driving an SUV, apparently lost control of the vehicle and slammed into a pole in the 3000 block of North Dixie around 6:20 p.m. First responders were on the scene within minutes — finding the man trapped in his vehicle.
The impact of the crash was apparently so intense that the man smashed into the windshield of his vehicle — actually breaking the glass. Witnesses on the scene tried to render — but stopped once realizing he needed to be extricated.
His condition Tuesday morning was not immediately available. The roadway was reopened around 8 p.m.
