BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Maserati-driving student from Florida Atlantic University is facing multiple charges Wednesday following her arrest by Boca Raton Police.

Haleigh Michelle Gunn, 20, was pulled over around 2 a.m. Sunday for a routine traffic stop near 1 North Dixie Highway in the City of Boca Raton. A Boca Raton police report reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com says Gunn was observed behind the wheel as the sole occupant of the 2018 white Maserati SUV. According to police, she had an open “Surfside” alcoholic beverage in the center console and admitted she had consumed two margaritas approximately two hours before the traffic stop.

Police say Gunn struggled through several Standardized Field Sobriety Exercises, including the “one leg stand” and the “walk and turn”. During the exercises, she allegedly swayed back and forth, failed to follow heel-to-toe instructions, and even struck a “pigeon pose” before she was told to begin.

Gunn was taken into custody and transported to the Boca Raton Police Department for booking. While at the testing facility, she was allegedly asked multiple times to provide a breath sample to determine her blood alcohol content, but she ultimately refused. She is now charged with driving under the influence and a separate count for the refusal to submit to testing. Gunn was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail and later released on $2,000 bond. A court date is pending.
