At some point during the investigation, the driver of the stolen car struck a marked BSO unit and then struck a marked Coconut Creek Police unit.

At that point, a pursuit was initiated for aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer. The driver of the stolen vehicle then entered the Florida Turnpike southbound. The Florida Highway Patrol is handling the portion of the incident that occurred on the Turnpike. Please contact FHP for additional information regarding that portion of the investigation.
