Suing Mercedes-Benz USA Over “Defective” GLE350.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A New Jersey man has filed a lawsuit in Palm Beach County Circuit Court against Mercedes-Benz USA, alleging that his luxury SUV is a high-priced “lemon.” Howard Heiberger, who purchased a 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE350 from a West Palm Beach dealership in April 2025, claims the vehicle has been plagued by persistent defects that the manufacturer has failed to fix. According to the complaint reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com, Heiberger is seeking more than $50,000 in damages after losing confidence in the vehicle’s safety and reliability.
The legal filing describes a series of electrical and mechanical frustrations that began shortly after Heiberger took possession of the vehicle. He alleges that the GLE350, which cost approximately $53,459, suffers from door handles that won’t open, a driver’s side rear window that rolls down on its own, and persistent dashboard warning lights regarding the engine and coolant systems. Despite at least three separate repair attempts by authorized service technicians, the lawsuit claims these issues remain uncorrected.
Heiberger’s legal team at Krohn & Moss, Ltd. argues that the manufacturer breached its written warranty under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. The suit alleges that Mercedes-Benz has a direct hand in every aspect of the dealership experience—from the logos on service uniforms to the final word on warranty claims—and is therefore responsible for the failed “essential purpose” of the vehicle’s repair remedy. The plaintiff claims he even notified the company in writing about the defects before turning to the courts for relief.
The lawsuit is asking for the court to order a full repair of any outstanding defects or, alternatively, to compensate Heiberger for the vehicle’s diminished value and his legal fees.
