But that’s exactly what happened under the restaurant underwent a grilling (okay, we’re well done) by the Department of Health on February 26th.
The restaurant was NOT ordered to close although a follow-up inspection is now pending. Per BocaNewsNow.com policy, the following is the unedited list of violations as filed with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
High Priority – Raw animal food stored over/not properly separated from ready-to-eat food. 1. Protein walk in cooler raw beef stored over ready to eat cooked potatoes. Operator stored properly. Corrected On-Site Repeat Violation Admin Complaint.
Intermediate – Food-contact surface soiled with food debris, mold-like substance or slime. -Bar soda gun nozzles soiled. Warning.
Intermediate – No paper towels or mechanical hand drying device provided at handwash sink at ware washing station. Operator provided. Corrected On-Site Warning.
Basic – Open dumpster lid. Warning.
Basic – Unwashed fruits/vegetables stored with ready-to-eat food. 1. Walk in cooler; unwashed strawberries and greens stored over containers of ready to eat cooked creamed spinach. Operator stored properly. Corrected On-Site Warning.
Basic – Very slow draining water in handwash sink at bar. Warning.
This is the first inspection for Morton’s in Boca Raton that has required a follow-up inspection due to violations.
