BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Flights from South Florida to Israel are cancelled at least through Thursday as the war with Iran continues. El Al, which flies non-stop from Fort Lauderdale to Tel Aviv issued this advisory Monday afternoon:
>>Following the declaration of a special situation on the home front and the closure of Israel’s airspace for departures and arrivals, as directed by the security and aviation authorities, all EL AL and Sundor flights to and from Israel that were scheduled to depart through Thursday, March 5, at 2:00 AM (between Wednesday and Thursday) are canceled.
We are preparing for an operation to bring Israelis back home as soon as Ben-Gurion Airport reopens for activity. More details on this page. At this time, we will not operate flights to Taba, due to the lack of approval from the security authorities in Israel
We would like to clarify that EL AL will proactively update customers regarding their assignment to an alternative flight, once it can be operated in accordance with Security Authorities Instructions. Therefore, there is no need to contact our Customer Service Center.<<
We note ALL FLIGHTS in and out of Israeli Airspace are cancelled until further notice.
