LAKE WORTH BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to officially launch the Maine Street Apartments, a partnership between Palm Beach County and Maine Street LLC to deliver new affordable housing units in Lake Worth Beach.

Palm Beach County provided $600,000 in ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) funding to support the project. These apartments provide a minimum of a 30-year affordability period, creating opportunities for stability and responding to the needs of our veterans and residents at risk of homelessness.

Maine Street Apartments will consist of 14 one-bedroom apartments, including an on-site laundry facility and Energy Star appliances. The units are designated for households at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI), with most residents expected to be at or below 50% of the AMI.

“I see the passion for this project that is really unique and incredible. As Palm Beach County Administrator, I am proud to say that the County continues to prioritize strategic housing initiatives that promote growth, economic stability, and overall community well-being. Most importantly, many of the individuals who will call this place home are veterans,” said Palm Beach County Administrator Joseph Abruzzo.

“It is so important that we collaborate in these efforts, and that we help the vulnerable community, people who have served and were willing to lay down their lives for this great nation.  This ribbon-cutting represents more than the completion of a construction project; it represents Palm Beach County’s continued commitment to accessible, affordable housing for those who need it most, including our veterans. As a veteran myself, this holds a special meaning for me. So many who wore an armed forces uniform are unable to obtain a safe place to lay their head at night.” – Commissioner Joel G. Flores (District 3). (Published as received from Palm Beach County).
