BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The multiple child molestation charges filed against now former Palm Beach County educator Norman Riemer — husband of now ex-Whispering Pines Elementary School principal Barbara Riemer — have been dropped. While five “Lewd Or Lascivious Molestation” charges were on the books following his arrest in May of last year, there are now just two charges remaining — two counts of “Lewd or Lascivious Exhibition.”

As we reported following his arrest, Norman Riemer, 54, was accused of sexual contact with two elementary-aged children who were in the Lake Worth home he shares with his wife. Norman Riemer allegedly told the girls that they should touch his private part as part of a science experiment. He was fired from the Palm Beach County School District hours after our report on his arrest was published.

Norman Riemer was held in the Palm Beach County Jail for months. He is now free on bond. There was no allegation or concern that there were additional victims. His attorneys want the case completely dismissed. Prosecutors do not. A hearing is pending.

Prosecutors just weeks ago argued that dismissal of the case is inappropriate. They claim that stories from the alleged victims are consistent with child molestation. While the original charges carried a potential “life in prison” sentence, the remaining charges in Florida can lead up to 15 years in prison.

Riemer is represented by noted defense attorney Tyler DiMaio of the Suskauer Law Firm in West Palm Beach. He has routinely declined to comment on his client’s case.
