BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Lazy Dog Restaurant in the Uptown shopping center on Glades Road near 441 is facing a lawsuit following a January incident in its parking lot. Linda Buccilli just filed the lawsuit in Palm Beach County Circuit Court. She also names SCG Uptown Boca Owner, LLC, as a defendant.

According to the filing obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, Buccilli was walking from the parking lot toward the restaurant when she tripped on a solid-colored curb located on the west side of the outdoor patio. The lawsuit alleges that the curb “rise” was not demarcated with any warning signs, bright colors, or markings, causing it to blend seamlessly into the surrounding pavement. This lack of visual contrast allegedly made the obstacle nearly impossible for a customer to detect, leading Buccilli to fall and hit her head while also suffering a broken elbow.

The legal team representing Buccilli, The Bald Injury Lawyers (who we note are actually all bald), argues that both the restaurant and the property management failed in their duty to maintain a safe environment. The suit claims the companies either knew about the dangerous condition or should have discovered it through routine inspections. By failing to paint the curb or provide adequate warnings, the complaint asserts that the defendants created a foreseeable hazard for business invitees.

Buccilli is seeking more than $50,000 in damages, citing permanent injuries, significant medical expenses, and a loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life. The defendants have not yet filed a formal response to the allegations in court.
