All charges against Cemal Kaya have been dropped by prosecutors. Now there are questions about whether or not the alleged 6-year-old victim made up the crime.

As we reported following Kaya’s arrest in early February, a six year old girl accused Kaya of putting his private part in her mouth during a tennis lesson at a “West Boca Raton Tennis Academy” in January. The young girl, who spoke little English, was left left alone with the coach by her guardian. It was one of the extremely cold days that South Florida experienced this year and other children apparently did not show up for the regularly scheduled outdoor group lesson.

Detectives with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office investigated the claim and believed the girl who said the incident took place in a private storage shed at the tennis academy. Kaya, 18, told police that he only gave the girl a piece of gum and completely denied the sex claim. Police, however, arrested him. Cemal Kaya was charged with sexual battery and lewd and lascivious behavior by someone over 18 upon someone under 16. His arrest was highly publicized by law enforcement.

Prosecutors dropped all charges just one month later. Kaya is now free. We have asked Kaya’s attorney for clarification as to why charges were dropped and whether or not the police acknowledged a possible error in the alleged victim’s story. We’ll update once we learn more.
