Hit And Run Suspect Baker Acted.

DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Kings Point Delray Beach residents may be old, but they’re certainly good at getting arrested. The latest arrest of a Kings Point Delray Beach resident is Meryl Wexler. She’s the 94th resident to be arrested since 2023.
Wexler is accused of hitting a person in a Kings Point parking lot with her car, then continuing on as if nothing happened. In fact, when a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Deputy attempted to take her into custody, she allegedly told the deputy that all of the witnesses — and apparently there were many — were “making it up,” and that she was calling the police. Again, she was actually with a deputy at the time she said she’d call the cops.
Making it worse, Wexler, 70, allegedly refused to comply with the deputy on the scene. That led to her being knocked down, cuffed amidst her ongoing efforts to “actively resist arrest.” She is now facing felony hit-and-run and resisting arrest charges. Court records indicate the resident of the “Waterford” section of Kings point was Baker Acted following the situation.

Meryl Wexler is the 94th arrest of a Kings Point resident since 2023 and the 10th arrest this year. She joins other Kings Point residents charged with sex crimes, violent crimes, domestic violence, child sex crimes, weapons offenses, DUI, drug possession and distribution, and more. Unofficial records maintained by BocaNewsNow.com suggest there is no other senior living community in South Palm Beach County that logs more resident arrests than Kings Point.
