BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — It may seem like a major disaster playing out off the coast of Boca Raton, but we promise, it’s not — at least not today.
Boca Raton Fire Rescue, Boca Raton Police, Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Broward Sheriff’s Office, and at times the United States Coast Guard have all been taking part in training exercises in, near, and over the ocean visible from Boca Raton. We have received several panicked calls, texts, and emails over the past two days from people who were positive that they saw bodies being pulled from the water. Turns out those bodies are mannequins.
Video showing a mannequin being pulled from the ocean by a helicopter looks very real — at least until you realize that the “person” in the basket under the helicopter is completely immobile with bent legs. And if you happen to see divers pulling bodies out from under a dock — that too is training. We promise those bodies are mannequins that weren’t breathing yesterday, aren’t breathing today, and likely won’t be breathing tomorrow.
