PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Palm Beach County woman is facing multiple charges after detectives say she posed as an immigration attorney to provide services that she had no business providing. But her business led to at least one client paying — and now she needs an attorney herself.
Here is the official announcement made by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office:
“On March 20, 2026, an investigation was initiated into an alleged scheme to defraud targeting individuals with immigration-related vulnerabilities. The investigation revealed that Mitzy Mariel Farfan falsely represented herself as an immigration attorney and/or a court-affiliated individual in order to obtain money from victims.
Two victims reported providing Farfan with payment for immigration-related services that were never rendered. Farfan intentionally prolonged the process and even appeared in court with the victims, despite lacking both the qualifications and intent to provide legitimate assistance. The total financial loss exceeded $8,700.
On March 26, 2026, Farfan was arrested and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on one count of fraud and another count of larceny. She is being held on $10,000 bond.”
