Major Projects Ongoing In Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, Wellington, Lake Worth Beach, and Beyond…

FDOT and Palm Beach County say there will be major projects slowing commutes this week in the region.

That’s the catch phrase this week if you’re planning to drive pretty much anywhere in Palm Beach County. As we like to do on Sundays, here is our list of major traffic issues expected to slow your go over the next several days. We thank Palm Beach County and the Florida Department of Transportation for the update:

BOCA RATON, DELRAY BEACH, & HIGHLAND BEACH

U.S. 441/S.R. 7 Resurfacing (Glades Rd. to Bridgebrook Dr.)

Impact: Intermittent single outside lane closures in both directions.

Time: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Work: Sodding, swale, and lighting.

Completion: Fall 2026.

S.R. 806/Atlantic Avenue Reconstruction (West of US-441 to Turnpike)

U.S. 441/S.R. 7 Northbound & Southbound: Single lane closures from Rio Grande Ave. to Tivoli Isles Blvd. (7 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily; 8:30 p.m. – 7 a.m. Sunday–Thursday).

Atlantic Avenue: Single lane closures in both directions between Lyons Rd. and the Turnpike (8:30 p.m. – 6 a.m., Sunday–Thursday) for striping.

Atlantic Ave Eastbound: Turn lane closed from Wawa entrance to US-441 (7 a.m. – 5 p.m. weekdays).

Pedestrian Alert: Westbound sidewalk closed from Lyons to Turnpike; Northbound sidewalk closed between Atlantic and Saturnia Isles. Use opposite side detours.

Smith Sundy Rd: One lane closed in each direction between Storage Zone and Atlantic Ave (7 a.m. – 5 p.m. weekdays).

S.R. A1A/South Ocean Blvd Resurfacing (Highland Beach/Delray)

Impact: Intermittent lane closures in both directions from 1708 S. Ocean (Delray) to 4801 S. Ocean (Highland Beach).

Time: 7 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Note: Flaggers will be present for swale and paving work.

S.R. A1A/South Ocean Blvd Improvements (Linton Blvd. to Atlantic Ave.)

Status: No lane closures currently reported for this segment.

Completion: Early 2026.

Atlantic Ave & Homewood Blvd Intersection Improvements

Impact: Intermittent lane closures in all directions at the Homewood/High Point Blvd intersection.

Time: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday (March 30) – Friday (April 3).

I-95 & TURNPIKE UPDATES

I-95 at Boynton Beach Boulevard Interchange

Mainline I-95: 1 lane closed at 8 p.m.; up to 3 lanes closed 10 p.m. – 6 a.m., Sunday–Thursday.

Boynton Beach Blvd: 1 lane closed each direction (9 p.m. – 6 a.m., Sun–Sat).

Ramp Closures (9 p.m. – 6 a.m., Sun–Thursday):

NB Exit to Boynton Bch Blvd: Detour via Woolbright Rd to U.S. 1.

SB Exit to Boynton Bch Blvd: Detour via Gateway Blvd to U.S. 1.

NB Entrance from Boynton Bch Blvd: Detour via U.S. 1 or Congress to Gateway Blvd.

SB Entrance from Boynton Bch Blvd: Detour via U.S. 1 or Congress to Woolbright Rd.

SB Exit Pattern Change: No free-flow right turn onto westbound Boynton Beach Blvd. Must stop on red.

I-95 Ramps Safety Project (Okeechobee, PGA, Indiantown)

Status: No ramp closures reported. High-friction surfacing and LED lighting upgrades ongoing.

I-95 Maintenance (Palm Beach Gardens)

SB I-95 (Military Trail to PGA Blvd): Up to 4 lanes closed 10 p.m. – 5 a.m., April 5–7. SB PGA Exit closed April 5.

SB I-95 (PGA Blvd to Northlake): 3 lanes closed 10 p.m. – 5 a.m., April 12–14. SB On-ramps at PGA Blvd closed intermittently.

Florida’s Turnpike at Boynton Beach Blvd

Impact: Ongoing interchange improvements through Spring 2026. Heavy daytime/nighttime activity.

BOYNTON BEACH & CENTRAL COUNTY

Boynton Beach Blvd (Orchid Grove Trail to Palm Isles Dr)

Night Work: 1 outside lane closed (8 p.m. – 6 a.m., March 30–April 3) for electrical work.

Concrete Work: 2 eastbound lanes closed from Orchid Grove to Hagen Ranch Rd (8 p.m. – 6 a.m., March 30–April 3).

S.R. A1A/South Ocean Blvd (Lake Worth Beach/Palm Beach)

Lake Ave to Ibis Way: Flagging operations with 1 lane closed (9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. – 7 a.m. nightly) through April 30.

Emerald Beach Way to Royal Palm Way: Flagging operations 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. through April 30.

Mar-a-Lago Traffic Circle: New traffic pattern in place. Traffic inside the circle has the right-of-way; approaching vehicles must yield.

NORTHERN & WESTERN UPDATES

Beeline Highway (S.R. 710) Reconstruction

Impact: Massive widening project. Single lane closures daily (7 a.m. – 6 p.m.) between Blue Heron and Northlake Blvd.

Ramp Closure: NW ramp to Eastbound Northlake closed until Spring 2026. Use the main intersection turn.

Turnpike Bridge: Nightly lane closures on the Turnpike near Beeline Hwy (10 p.m. – 5 a.m.).

U.S. 1 Improvements (Riviera Beach to North Palm Beach)

Earman River Bridge: Southbound traffic shifted to the northbound bridge. Intermittent outside lane closures (9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.). Marine Alert: Earman River channel closed through Spring 2027.

Blue Heron Blvd: Corner sidewalks closed at US-1 for signal work. Follow posted pedestrian detours.

Southern Boulevard (S.R. 80) & S.R. 7 Interchange

Impact: 1 outside lane closed in both directions on SR-7 (March 30–April 3).

Bridge Work: Sidewalks at the NE and SE corners of SR-7 and Southern Blvd closed through Summer 2026.

Turnpike Closure: Westbound Southern Blvd closed at the Turnpike entrance Monday, March 30 (10 p.m. – 6 a.m.) for crane work. Detour via Jog Rd to Belvedere Rd.

U.S. 27 / Everglades (EAA Reservoir)

Impact: Traffic shifted east for new bridge construction. Speed limit reduced to 55 mph. Intermittent lane closures March 30–April 3.
