BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A friend of a helicopter flight instructor killed in a March 23 crash near Boynton Beach has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help the pilot’s surviving family cover burial expenses. Alejandro “Rosco” Carrasco, a recently hired certified flight instructor at Palm Beach Helicopters, died along with his student when their helicopter went down last Monday. It crashed into a vacant warehouse. The campaign also invites donors to direct contributions toward the family of the student, identified as Bryan Menna of Michigan.

According to GoFundMe: Carrasco earned his helicopter Certificated Flight Instructor-Instrument rating from Utah State University in 2025 and relocated to Florida to join Palm Beach Helicopters shortly after graduation. Those who knew him described a man who was deliberate and deeply committed to his craft — a pilot who took pride in flying smoothly and maintaining complete control at all times.

Before pursuing aviation, Carrasco served in the United States military. Friends and colleagues describe him as pragmatic and clear-eyed about the risks inherent to his profession, yet meticulous in his approach to flying. He was widely regarded as a pilot of sound judgment in the cockpit.

The GoFundMe campaign seeks contributions to help defray burial costs for Carrasco’s family. Donors wishing to support the family of student Bryan Menna of Michigan may note their preference in the comments section of the campaign page. The organizers expressed gratitude for any generosity extended during what they called a time of great loss.
