BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Officials from Boca Raton Rescue mid-day Friday released images and new details about Thursday night’s fire at Boca Raton Town Center Mall. We are publishing this advisory in its entirety:

>>Yesterday, Boca Raton Fire Rescue responded to a fire incident at the Boca Raton Town Center Mall. At approximately 18:56, Boca Raton Dispatch received reports of a large fire on the roof of Bloomingdale’s. Fire Rescue crews arrived quickly and confirmed visible smoke and flames. Early information from crews on scene indicates the fire may have originated as a grease fire in the kitchen of the restaurant Tobu, which then extended to the rooftop area of the Food Court near Bloomingdale’s.

Two primary areas—the kitchen and a section of the roof which housed an air handler—sustained the most fire involvement. Within 22 minutes, both fires were brought under control. Boca Raton Fire Rescue investigators are finalizing their investigation.

Out of an abundance of caution, the mall was evacuated due to smoke conditions inside the building. The mall resumed normal operations today. A total of eleven Fire Rescue units and dozens of firefighters responded to the incident. There were no reported civilian injuries. One Boca Raton firefighter was evaluated for a minor hand injury.<<
