BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton-based laser hair removal company has filed a lawsuit against a distributor it claims provided defective equipment that repeatedly failed during customer treatments, causing business losses and ongoing disruptions.
According to the complaint, Hairaway Laser Inc., formerly known as Touch Massage Boca Raton Inc., alleges it entered into a lease agreement in November 2023 for commercial laser equipment used in hair removal services. Within months, the equipment allegedly began malfunctioning, overheating, and shutting down mid-treatment, despite multiple repair attempts by the distributor, The Laser Professionals LLC.
The lawsuit further claims the distributor eventually replaced the original device in late 2025, but the replacement unit was not the same model and was less effective and more cumbersome. Hairaway says it continued making monthly payments under the lease while dealing with unreliable equipment, resulting in lost business, interruption of services, and additional costs.
Hairaway Laser is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, along with attorneys’ fees and other relief, alleging breach of warranty, deceptive business practices, and unjust enrichment. The laser hair equipment provider had not responded to the suit as of Monday evening.
