BocaNewsNow.con has learned that additional Lotus residents have been identified in connection with the battery of a young boy in the West Boca Raton community.

DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Additional participants in the apparent child battery captured on video in the Lotus community of West Boca Raton have been identified.

As BocaNewsNow.com reported exclusively: Lotus resident Mitchell Schuman was arrested by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office after video that we published (below) showed him throwing a water bottle at a young child who was apparently doing “wheelies” on his e-bike in Lotus. In the minutes that followed on Friday, a group of other men — and some women — came to the scene. Men are captured on video physically restraining the child and denying him access to his personal cell phone. At least one woman is heard encouraging the men to do what they are seen doing.

Mitchell Schuman was arrested and charged with battery after video shows him throwing a water bottle at a young child in the community of Lotus.

As we’ve reported: Schuman was charged with battery but only given a “notice to appear.” He was not handcuffed or taken to jail. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office has yet to provide context as to why a white legal professional living in a high-end community was seemingly given special treatment. PBSO routinely arrests and jails people for battery and denying access to a communication device — both serious crimes in Florida. A spokesperson for the State Attorney’s office referred questions to PBSO.

New information obtained by BocaNewsNow.com shows initial police processing information regarding the arrest of Mitchell Schuman. Multiple categories in his record show “active information” which means the case is still open.

While Schuman is the only person to be arrested as of Tuesday morning, BocaNewsNow.com has learned that interest continues into the other people involved. BocaNewsNow.com is not publishing last names at this time but has learned people at the scene with the names of: “Ari, Howard, Jed, Marina, Tatiana, and Vincent” may all be considered to be potentially involved based on the video that we have published. Their own social media accounts confirm their identities. We will publish additional information if arrests are made. We stress that none of these people have been charged. They do all live in the Lotus community.

We also note that a woman with what might be described as a distinct New York accent is heard on the video telling the child that “there is something called JUUVVVVIE” and that he could go there. While “Juvie” is something you might see in New York-based television show “Law and Order,” there is no juvenile detention center in Palm Beach County. And to be clear: the child is not accused of any criminal misconduct whatsoever.

We are again publishing both videos that we have released so far. The first is Schuman throwing a water bottle at the child. The second documents the several minutes following the initial attack. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate.

  1. As a former 27 year county educator and administrator it would have been a non-issue had Mitchell kindly asked the child to refrain from wheelies citing they’re dangerous, etc.
Unfortunately the “gang” approach to handling an otherwise innocuous incident escalated to include numerous criminal acts upon a defenseless child. This child was within the gates of his own community and instead of being protected, was alienated by every adult. He will most likely have post traumatic stress from this event for years to come. Very tragic because it was completely avoidable.

  2. Lock them all up. They have zero right when restraining an adolescent from using his phone or throwing a water bottle at him. Cause u live in an exclusive community does not give u the right to do what u did. I’d dare u to try an do that to someone closer to your age

  3. These “adults” are all nuts. That’s what happens when the morality mob gets together to enforce the condo “rules”. (Worse….parent someone else’s kid). No one thought to try to de-escalate the situation?? Time to get back to important jobs like “pool patrol” to keep people from diving or running near the pool, making sure Morty is putting the shuffle board stuff away correctly, or keeping an eye out for people not wiping their seat in the clubhouse gym. When the neighbors kids doing “wheelies” is the biggest problem in your life, it says you’ve got way too much time on your hands!! Certainly wouldn’t want to live amongst these Karen’s.

  5. A so-called adult hrowing anything at a kid is inexcusable, as is taking his cell phone away from him.
These “entitled” folk need to be punished for their “juvee” behavior.
Maybe force them to attend a teen skateboard exhibition.

  6. lotus! is full of crap ! not one adult ! help the kid or ask to see what the main issue was ! just assume the kid was the problem they all think there security and wont let actually security do there job ! they our the worst they all need to be arrested every single adult in that video!

    1. These people were not good and the adult throwing an object at the child could have seriously hurt him. You probably don’t have children to think the way you think because a child is doing a Willy on his bicycle doesn’t give anyone the right to attack or take property that is not yours so you’re telling me if somebody threw an object at you and took your phone how would you feel let’s be honest the kid didn’t hurt anyone or cause any property damage he was having fun on his bicycle is this what the world is really coming to

  7. All these people need to go to jail and pay fines, unbelievable that they would do this to a kid that looks to be 11 -12 years old for riding his bike in his own neighborhood .if that was my kid these people would all regret there actions . i hope his parents take them to court

    1. This was completely handled wrong. He should have never thrown anything at that boy. Non the less take his phone. The child is in his community and all of those people attacked him instead of putting a stop to all this craziness. They are all Karens and the one yelling you can go to juvee is simply disgusting. All I can tell you is, they are lucky this wasn’t my kid. Boy do I feel sorry for all the employees who are working here, the management company and most importantly the manager on site. Not all the money in the world would have me working there as the manager. These people should all be arrested, all fined, and all removed from the amenities for a year or two. Yes, and mandatory payment still stands. That is something I have to give to Boca West Country Club, as a member you act like this there are consequences, towards an employee you’re banned for 2 years from everything. The people now-a-days in communities and associations are just out of control. I am praying non of these crazies are Board of Directors.
