Schuman is now charged with theft and battery — both first degree misdemeanors.

The police report, previously not released to the public but provided by sources to BocaNewsNow.com, outlines the first minutes after the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office arrived on the scene last Friday. Some information is redacted in the report.

>>> (WRITTEN BY DEPUTY) On April 3rd, 2026 at approximately 1220 hours, I was dispatched to the Residential Community of Lotus Located in unincorporated Delray Beach in reference to a Battery Report. Upon my arrival, I was flagged down by multiple subjects at the intersection of Paradise Bay Ave and Five Waters Ave where I stopped to speak to them. I first spoke with a Mitchell Schuman who stated prior to my arrival he observed a male juvenile doing wheelies on an e-bike down the main road of the community. Schuman stated he asked the juvenile to stop and go to security with him, but the juvenile refused to answer questions and began recording him from his cell phone.

Schuman stated he followed the juvenile on his bicycle blowing a whistle and requesting he stop again. Schuman stated while following the juvenile, he fell off his bike, and the juvenile began laughing at him. Schuman stated he then threw a water bottle from approximately ten feet away, striking the juvenile’s phone and knocking it from his hand. Schuman stated he then picked up the juvenile’s phone and told him to go locate security personnel with him. Schuman stated the juvenile then jumped on him and began to batter him by kicking and punching him. Schuman stated he never touched the child when he was being battered. I confirmed with Schuman that he did not work for security nor was he law enforcement. Deputy K. Dias ID 30502 then took photos of Schuman’s injuries which was uploaded to evidence.com under this case number.

After speaking Schuman, I then spoke with a Suzette Greenberg who stated while inside her community, she observed the juvenile on the back of Schuman, punching and kicking him. Greenberg stated she pulled the juvenile off the victim to separate the physical altercation. Greenberg described the juvenile as approximately 12 years old, five feet to five feet two inches tall, with brown eyes, wearing a white shirt resembling a soccer jersey and shorts. Greenberg stated she observed the juvenile as angry and unconsolable, flailing his arms and legs. Greenberg stated after pulling the juvenile off of Schuman, she attempted to calm him down which yielded negative results. Greenberg stated the juvenile then left the area on his e-bike west toward the entrance of the community. Greenberg stated she only observed the juvenile battering Schuman but not the initial contact between Schuman and the juvenile on their bikes.

After speaking with Greenberg I then spoke with an (redacted) who had just arrived on scene, stating she was the mother of (redacted), the juvenile involved in the physical altercation. (Redacted) stated (redacted) was home at where I requested to speak with him which she agreed.

I then drove to the residence of (redacted) where I met with (redacted) who stated he was riding his bike to his (redacted) residence in Lotus when an adult male in a blue shirt, identified as Mitchell Schuman, riding a bicycle began yelling at him. (Redacted) stated he pulled over, then ignored Schuman and rode away. (Redacted) stated Schuman began to chase him on the roadway where (redacted) began to record the interaction on his phone. (Redacted) stated while attempting to drive away from Schuman he attempted to grab his phone twice, with the second time falling off his bicycle.

(Redacted) stated Schuman then threw a water bottle at him, striking him on the side of his stomach causing his phone to fall to the ground. (Redacted) stated Schuman then retrieved his phone and pushed him off his bike. (Redacted) stated he felt threatened and tried to defend himself to retrieve his phone. (Redacted) stated this was the second incident with Schuman, who previously yelled at him on another unrelated incident.

I then reviewed (Redacted’s) video recording from his cell phone which showed Schuman chasing (Redacted) on a bicycle, demanding him go to security, asking where he lived and what his name was. The video continued showing Schuman falling off his bike while (Redacted) laughed at him. Schuman is then recorded throwing his water bottle toward (Redacted), striking him and knocking the phone from his hand. The video continues with Schuman retrieving the phone and refusing to return it to (Redacted), after (Redacted) stating to give it back. (Redacted), who was present during the interview with (Redacted), stated she would like to prosecute for the battery of her son. I then collected the cell phone video from (Redacted) via an AXON Community Request which was uploaded to evidence.com.

I advised (Redacted) regarding e-bike regulations and the dangers of the high-performance machine of what Florida considers as a motor vehicle which she acknowledged.

After completing my investigation, I concluded that the crime of Simple Battery 784.03(1)(a)(1) was committed against (Redacted) by Mitchell Schuman due to (Redacted) statements, (Redacted’s) cell phone footage of initial encounter and striking of (Redacted) using a water bottle Mitchell Schuman threw, and Mitchell Schuman’s initial statements on scene. I then provided (Redacted) with a PBSO Victims Rights and Case Information Form which due to (Redacted) being (Redacted) years old, (Redacted) completed with me. (Redacted) then evoked Marsy’s Law (Subsection C) which was properly completed and signed on behalf of (Redacted). I then returned to Paradise Bay Ave and Five Waters Ave and made contact with Schuman again and advised him of my findings. Schuman was then placed under arrest where he was issued him a Notice to Appear (NTA) citation. <<<

The affidavit of probable cause has still not been filed with the Palm Beach County Clerk of Courts as of Friday afternoon. Charges were upgraded to theft and battery. The investigation, according to sources, remains open. Read our previous coverage, and view the video, here.
