BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boynton Beach homeowner is facing a foreclosure lawsuit over unpaid HOA assessments that had grown to roughly $3,800 by the time the case was filed — a dispute that serves as a reminder that HOA fees and dues payments are not optional in Florida. Canyon Isles Homeowners Association, Inc. filed the complaint April 9 in Palm Beach County Circuit Court against Elliot Press, owner of a home at 11354 Millpond Greens Drive in the Canyon Isles community.

According to court records reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com, Press owed nothing as of September 30, 2025, but began falling behind on quarterly assessments of $1,280 shortly after. The HOA’s law firm, Wasserstein, P.A. of Boca Raton, sent a Notice of Intent to Record a Claim of Lien in December 2025, showing a total then due of $1,980.76 — including assessments, interest at 18 percent per year, a $25 late fee, collection costs, and attorney’s fees. Press apparently did not pay, and by February 2026, the balance had climbed to $3,836.32. The association recorded a formal Claim of Lien against the property on February 24, 2026.

With the lien in place and the debt still unpaid, the association moved to foreclose. The two-count complaint seeks a court judgment for all unpaid assessments, interest, late fees, and attorney’s fees — and asks a judge to order the property sold if the debt remains unsatisfied.

Press, who lists a Lake Worth mailing address separate from the Boynton Beach property, has not yet filed a response in the case.
