Failed Training. Made Threat At Police Facility. Jailed. Said To Be Army Vet Off His Meds…

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A security guard who failed a training evaluation has been arrested on felony charges after allegedly making bomb threats and mass shooting statements at a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office training facility in West Palm Beach.
Frank Joseph Ladzinski, 37, of Riviera Beach, was arrested March 31, 2026, at the PBSO training facility on Cherry Road after witnesses reported he made a series of alarming statements — including that he knew where to place explosive “chargers” inside the building and that his targets would be the trainers. The PBSO Hazardous Device Unit responded to the scene and swept the building.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Ladzinski had failed a Guardian Academy evaluation the previous day and was given an opportunity to return and redo the assessment. Guardian is a training program for school security guards. Witnesses told investigators that before class, Ladzinski interjected into a conversation about active shooter incidents and said he would shoot the trainers and knew where to set the charges. He later brought a large army-style bag into the classroom despite instructions that no bags were allowed, and when asked what was inside, replied, “Well, it’s not a bomb… well, maybe.” When deputies began searching vehicles outside, witnesses reported hearing Ladzinski say he only had a loaded gun in his car. Post-Miranda, Ladzinski acknowledged making the statements and said he knew they would instill fear in others.

Ladzinski faces two felony charges: false report of a bomb or explosive device and threatening to discharge a destructive device. He was transported to the Palm Beach County Jail without incident. Bond was not set. Ladzinski told investigators he is an Army veteran who suffers from PTSD and acknowledged he had not been taking his prescribed medication.
