BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2026 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Drivers across Palm Beach County should prepare for significant traffic disruptions this week as multiple Florida Department of Transportation construction projects bring lane closures, ramp shutdowns, and detours to Interstate 95, major state roads, and even those little roads you never thought would cause big problems. Here is our look at what to expect, with continued thanks to FDOT and Palm Beach County:
INTERSTATE 95 — BOCA RATON
The I-95 express lanes northbound from SW 10th Street to the express lane exit in Boca Raton will be closed for cleaning and delineator pole replacement from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, April 13. The following night, Tuesday, April 14, the southbound express lanes from the entrance to Hillsboro Boulevard will be closed during the same hours for the same work. INTERSTATE 95 — BOYNTON BEACH BOULEVARD INTERCHANGE
The ongoing $64 million interchange improvement project at I-95 and Boynton Beach Boulevard continues to affect drivers throughout the week. Key impacts include:
Up to three lanes of I-95 may be closed in each direction from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights, with a possible fourth lane closure overnight as needed. One lane may begin closing as early as 8 p.m.
Boynton Beach Boulevard from Old Boynton Road to NW 3rd Avenue may have one lane closed in each direction from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly, including Friday and Saturday.
The westbound Boynton Beach Boulevard turn lane to the I-95 southbound entrance ramp may close from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights. Detour: via W. Industrial Ave. to U-turn to eastbound Boynton Beach Blvd.
Ramp closures (one at a time, 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday): The northbound exit ramp to Boynton Beach Blvd. may close — detour via Woolbright Road east to U.S. 1 north. The southbound exit ramp may close — detour via Gateway Blvd. east to U.S. 1 south. The northbound entrance ramp from Boynton Beach Blvd. may close — detour via U.S. 1 or Congress Ave. north to Gateway Blvd. The southbound entrance ramp may close — detour via U.S. 1 or Congress Ave. south to Woolbright Road.
Temporary pattern change: Beginning Sunday night, April 12, striping operations are expected to begin to reopen the free-flowing right-turn lane from the I-95 southbound exit ramp to westbound Boynton Beach Boulevard. INTERSTATE 95 — PALM BEACH GARDENS
Three southbound I-95 mainline lanes from PGA Boulevard to Northlake Boulevard will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday, April 12 through Tuesday, April 14. Three southbound on-ramps at PGA Boulevard will also close intermittently during those same overnight windows.
Detours: Eastbound PGA Blvd. drivers go right on Military Trail, left on Northlake Blvd., right onto I-95. Westbound PGA Blvd. drivers go left on Military Trail, left on Northlake Blvd., right onto I-95. Southbound Alt. INTERSTATE 95 — LAKE WORTH / DELRAY BEACH
Southbound I-95 at 12th Avenue South in Lake Worth will have three lanes closed for bridge repairs from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Wednesday, April 15 and Thursday, April 16, and again Monday, April 20 through Thursday, April 23.
The northbound I-95 off-ramp to northbound Congress Avenue in Delray Beach will have one lane closed for asphalt work from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday, April 19 through Tuesday, April 21. Contact for both: Jackson Arnold, 561-569-5344.
I-95 RAMPS SAFETY PROJECT — OKEECHOBEE / PGA / INDIANTOWN
The I-95 northbound on-ramp from eastbound Okeechobee Boulevard will be closed from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, April 12, for high-friction surface installation. Monday, April 13 and Tuesday, April 14 are contingency dates. Detour: east on Okeechobee Blvd. to U-turn at Parker Ave., west on Okeechobee Blvd., then north onto the I-95 on-ramp. FLORIDA’S TURNPIKE
Eastbound and westbound Okeechobee Boulevard will have single lane closures between Vista Parkway and West Drive from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday–Friday and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays through April 18, for pile driving as part of the Turnpike widening project. Eastbound and westbound lanes will not close simultaneously.
Westbound Southern Boulevard will have one inside lane closed continuously from the northbound Turnpike entrance to west of Pike Road through May 2026, for Turnpike bridge widening over Southern Blvd.

SOUTHERN PALM BEACH COUNTY — BOCA RATON / DELRAY BEACH / HIGHLAND BEACH
U.S. 441/S.R. 7, Glades Road to Bridgebrook Drive: One outside lane in each direction may be closed intermittently from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday–Friday, for sodding, swale, and lighting work. S.R. A1A/South Ocean Blvd., Highland Beach and Delray Beach (3.349-mile resurfacing project): No lane closures this week.
S.R. A1A/South Ocean Blvd., Linton Blvd. to Atlantic Ave., Delray Beach: This project was Final Accepted by FDOT on April 7, 2026. No further traffic impacts.
CENTRAL PALM BEACH COUNTY — BOYNTON BEACH / LAKE WORTH BEACH / WEST PALM BEACH / PALM BEACH
S.R. 806/Atlantic Avenue, U.S. 441 to Florida’s Turnpike (Delray Beach/Boynton Beach): Multiple closures are in effect this week as part of the $26 million reconstruction project:
One northbound or southbound lane on S.R. 7/U.S. 441 may be closed in various segments between Rio Grande Ave. and Tivoli Isles Blvd. from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday–Friday and 8:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday–Thursday for widening and paving.
One eastbound lane on S.R. 806/Atlantic Ave. from Lyons Road to Florida’s Turnpike may be closed 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday–Thursday, for striping. Westbound lane closures on the same stretch during the same hours.
One lane in each direction on Smith Sundy Road between Storage Zone Gate and Atlantic Ave. may be closed 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday–Friday, for reconstruction. Flaggers on site.

One lane in each direction on Atlantic Ave. east and west of the intersection will be closed intermittently for milling, resurfacing, and paint from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., Tuesday, April 14 through Thursday, April 16. S.R. 704/Okeechobee Blvd. and Haverhill Road Intersection: One lane in each direction on Okeechobee Blvd. east and west of Haverhill will be closed intermittently from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday, April 12 and Monday, April 13 (milling/resurfacing), and Tuesday, April 14 through Thursday, April 16 (signal loop installation). Daytime lane closures on Okeechobee Blvd. and Haverhill Road, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday–Friday, April 13–17, for signalization work. S.R. 804/Boynton Beach Blvd., Orchid Grove Trail to Palm Isles Drive: One outside lane in each direction will be closed intermittently for electrical work from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday, April 13 through Friday, April 17. S.R. A1A/South Ocean Blvd., Lake Avenue to Ibis Way (Lake Worth Beach/Palm Beach): One lane may be closed with flagging daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and nightly from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m., Sunday night through Friday, through April 30, for paving, harmonization, and sod installation. S.R. A1A/South County Road, Emerald Beach Way to Royal Palm Way (Palm Beach): One lane may be closed with flagging from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday–Friday, through April 30. Drilled shaft installation for new traffic signal mast arms continues Sunday through Thursday nights, approximately midnight to 9 a.m., at multiple locations along S. County Road. S.R. 5/U.S. 1, Belvedere Road to Okeechobee Blvd. (West Palm Beach): This project is scheduled to begin in May 2026. All lanes currently open.
NORTHERN PALM BEACH COUNTY — RIVIERA BEACH / LAKE PARK / NORTH PALM BEACH / PALM BEACH GARDENS / JUPITER
U.S. 1/S.R. 5, 59th Street to Northlake Blvd. (Riviera Beach/Lake Park/North Palm Beach): One outside lane in each direction will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and again from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., Monday–Friday. The northwest and southwest corner sidewalks at U.S. 1 and Blue Heron Blvd. are closed through Friday, April 17. Pedestrian detours are in place via 22nd Street and Avenue F. S.R. 710/Beeline Highway, Northlake Blvd. to Blue Heron Blvd. (Palm Beach Gardens/Riviera Beach): This major $148.2 million reconstruction project continues to affect multiple roadways:
Beeline Hwy. lanes from Military Trail to Blue Heron Blvd. are reduced to one inside lane through May 2026.
Beeline Hwy. from Blue Heron to Northlake Blvd. will have one inside lane closed in each direction daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday–Friday.
The southeast left-turn lane from Beeline Hwy. to eastbound Blue Heron Blvd. remains closed around-the-clock through May 2026. Detour: south on Beeline, north on Military Trail, east on Blue Heron.
Northlake Blvd. east and west of Beeline Hwy. will have one lane closed in each direction as needed from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday–Friday.

U.S. 1/Earman River Bridge Replacement (North Palm Beach): Southbound U.S. 1 traffic between Anchorage Drive and Northlake Blvd. remains shifted to the new northbound bridge through Spring 2027. The southbound outside lane between Anchorage Drive and Northlake Blvd. will be closed intermittently from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. WESTERN PALM BEACH COUNTY — WELLINGTON / ROYAL PALM BEACH / BELLE GLADE / PAHOKEE

S.R. 80/Southern Blvd. and S.R. 7/U.S. 441 Ramp Improvements: One outside lane along northbound and southbound S.R. 7 will be closed intermittently Monday, April 13 through Friday, April 17, for signalization and electrical work. One lane in each direction will also be closed for roadway and bridge work Monday–Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The eastbound U-turn lanes on S.R. 7 at Southern Blvd. are closed continuously for drainage and widening. U.S. 27/S.R. 25, EAA Reservoir Canal Bridges (27 miles north of I-75): Intermittent single lane closures in each direction may occur Monday, April 13 through Friday, April 17, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., for maintenance and deliveries.
