BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A bicyclist riding in a pack was critically injured early Saturday morning on Jog Road near Potomac.

It was not immediately clear if a motor vehicle was involved. Sources tell BocaNewsNow.com that the bicyclist, believed to be in his 60s, flew over the handlebars of his bicycle, hitting the ground hard. He apparently sustained multiple broken bones and was in and out of consciousness.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue rushed the man to Delray Medical Center. Another bicyclist was also injured but it appears those injuries are minor and do not require hospitalization.

While a vehicle is seen in the image from the scene, above, it remains unclear if the vehicle was involved or merely stopped to render aid. There is no suggestion at this point that a vehicle was involved in the incident. We’ll update when we learn more from the Boca Raton Police Department which handles that section of Jog Road. The incident was first reported just before 7 a.m.
