UPDATE AT 4:30 p.m. — A court error apparently led to a misunderstanding regarding Dylan Brewer’s whereabouts. His attorney says a plea of “not guilty” had been previously filed but not docketed. The warrant was withdrawn. A hearing is now set for April 30th.
DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The teen accused of defacing “LGBTQ+ Pride Intersection” in Delray Beach last month skipped his arraignment this morning, according to an advisory issued by the Palm Beach County Human Rights Council.
Dylan Brewer was supposed to be in court this morning to face a judge, but Brewer didn’t show. A bench warrant has been issued for his arrest.
“In addition to having no respect for the property of others and the safety of other people, it appears Dylan Brewer also has no respect for the law and this court,” said retired judge Rand Hoch, President and Founder of the Palm Beach County Human Rights Council (PBCHRC).
As we reported after Brewer’s arrest: “On the evening of Sunday, February 4th, 2024, witnesses reported that Brewer was observed intentionally performing multiple burnouts with his vehicle over the LGBTQ pride crosswalk at the intersection of NE 1st Street and NE 2nd Avenue. The reckless action caused significant damage to the streetscape painting, which serves as a symbol of unity and inclusivity for the LGBTQ community.
Law enforcement actively worked the case for more than a week. We received multiple reports from concerned citizens who witnessed Brewer engaging in these destructive acts. Several witnesses provided smartphone video of the crime. Brewer turned himself in at the Delray Beach Police Department (On February 12, 2024). Upon surrendering, Brewer did not provide a statement to law enforcement. He was taken to the Palm Beach County jail.”
Police are now on the lookout statewide, as is the company that posted bond. Brewer is charged wit criminal mischief, a third degree felony. He’s also facing a charge of reckless driving, a first degree misdemeanor. He faces up to five years in prison.

He opted to attend a MAGA rally instead.
Public property should not be used for expressions of sexuality disguised as unity and inclusion. The whole situation could have been avoided with a bit of common sense. But of course that’s a lot to ask of the Left.
I’m not defending this kid’s actions whatsoever, but you have to wonder where priorities are when the city spent thousands on painting a busy street intersection, where wear and tear is quickly inevitable, while almost every street sign, utility box or pole in the vicinity is plastered with graffiti.
You call MAGA nonsense common sense? Keep your mask on Zorro because you must be one weird person.
Do I apply to the city of Delray Beach to get a permit to paint an intersection for a cause?
He was just expressing himself and adding black color to the rainbow intersection. Why isn’t black part of this symbol of unity??? No crime there.
What a joke our justice system is. It’s a road being driven on how is that a crime. Stop painting your religion all over the roads.
