Dim Dies In Delray After Driving Into Boynton Lake

DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Pembroke Pines woman is dead after police say she drove her Hyundai Sonata into a Boynton Beach Lake and called out for help, only to be trapped in the submerged vehicle.

Cing Dim, 26, of NW 17th Court in Pembroke Pines, drove into the lake on March 5th. She was rushed to Bethesda West and ultimately transferred to Delray Medical Center where she was died on the afternoon of March 12th.

According to a police report shared with BocaNewsNow.com by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office: “(The Hyundai) was traveling southbound through the parking lot of 11211 South Military Trail. Cing Dim drove to the end of the parking lot and over the curb. The Hyundai continued southbound off the roadway. Dim steered the Hyundai to the right and rove into a lake. Dim called out for help as the Hyundai sank into the lake.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescuer personnel removed Dim from the Hyundai and transported her to Bethesda West Hospital due to injuries sustained during the collision. The Hyundai came to rest facing south in the center of the lake fully submerged. Dim was later pronounced deceased at Delray Medical Center.”
