BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Florida Turnpike northbound remains closed in the area of Coconut Creek Parkway due to an early morning fatal crash.

A vehicle apparently hit a pedestrian around 3 a.m. It was not immediately clear why a pedestrian was on, or near, the Turnpike.

While southbound traffic remains largely unfettered, northbound traffic is being routed off of the Florida Turnpike before Coconut Creek, then allowed back on north of the scene.
