SOUTHERN PALM BEACH COUNTY PROJECTS
(BOCA RATON, HIGHLAND BEACH, DELRAY BEACH)

Advanced Transportation Management System (ATMS) Project
Description: This 6-mile project from the Broward/Palm Beach County Line to SR 794/Yamato Road and SR 794/Yamato Road from SR 5/US 1 to SR 9/I-95 in the city of Boca Raton began on July 31, 2023. Work includes installing a new fiber optic network, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) devices, including Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) devices at eight (8) intersections on US 1 from Royal Palm Way to Spanish River Boulevard, upgrading the signal detection system, and upgrading the Advance Traffic Management System (ATMS) for compatibility with the Traffic Management Center (TMC). SR 800/Spanish River Boulevard Over the Intracoastal Waterway (ICWW) Scour Countermeasures Project
Description: This 0.092-mile project on SR 800/Spanish River Boulevard over the Intracoastal Waterway (ICWW) in the City of Boca Raton began January 9, 2024. Work includes Installing Articulated Concrete Block (ACB) at the riverbed to protect the bridge foundations from erosion on the eastbound and westbound SR 800/Spanish River Boulevard bridges. Cost/Completion: $2.1 million. Completion is expected in Fall 2024.
Traffic Impacts:
The frontage road may have intermittent lane closures, daily as needed, 7 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, for survey activities. Flaggers will be on site to assist motorists.
Marine Impacts: Crews may be on site performing underwater debris removal outside of the navigable channel. No impacts to boaters are anticipated with this activity.

SR A1A/South Ocean Boulevard Resurfacing Project
Description: This 3.349-mile project in the Town of Highland Beach and the City of Delray Beach is anticipated to begin in late May/early June 2024. The project improvements consist of milling and resurfacing the existing roadway, widening the roadway in each direction to provide five-foot bicycle lanes, modifying swales to improve drainage, and upgrading signing and pavement markings to meet current standards. CENTRAL PALM BEACH COUNTY PROJECTS

SR 802/Lake Worth Road at Haverhill Road Intersection Improvement Project
Description: This 0.148-mile project from 500 feet east and west of the Haverhill Road intersection and along Haverhill Road from 300 feet south to 300 feet north of the SR 802/ Lake Worth Road intersection in the City of Greenacres began on February 6, 2024. Work includes milling and resurfacing the existing roadway, modifying the median to improve motorist safety, replacing the traffic signal mast arm structure located in the northeast corner of SR 802/Lake Worth Road and Haverhill Road, installing curb and gutter, sidewalk, driveways, and bus stop pads, improving pavement markings, signage, and signalization, upgrading pedestrian signals and curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Interim outside single lane closure in each direction of SR 802/Lake Worth Road between Broward Avenue and Dahl Drive will be closed for clearing, grubbing, and sidewalk construction.

SR 802/Lake Worth Road Improvements Project
Description: This 1.90-mile project from Raulerson Drive to Palm Beach State College Entrance/Douglas Drive in the city of Lake Worth Beach began on November 14, 2022. Work includes constructing a new exclusive right turn lane from eastbound Lake Worth Road into the Mid-County Senior Center, installing new seven-foot bike lanes with upgraded safety features, milling and resurfacing Lake Worth Road in both directions, replacing underground Palm Beach County utilities throughout the project limits, improving sidewalk and driveways on both sides of Lake Worth Road, modifying medians to improve motorist safety, improving signalized intersections and pedestrian crossings, and installing new signage, pavement markings, and lighting. Traffic Impacts:
Two eastbound lanes on Lake Worth Road from Raulerson Drive to Congress Avenue may be closed from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, for force main construction, median construction, and directional bore operations.
Two westbound lanes on Lake Worth Road from Congress Avenue to Raulerson Drive may be closed from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, for force main construction, median construction, and directional bore operations.
One lane in each direction on Lake Worth Road from Raulerson Drive to Douglas Drive may be closed for median construction and drainage operations.
The inside northbound left turn lane on Congress Avenue at Lake Worth Road is closed for median construction.

SR 802/Lake Worth Road Roundabout Pedestrian Safety Project on Behalf of the City of Lake Worth Beach
Description: This 0.5-mile project from Erie Street to A Street/Lucerne Avenue Roundabout and Lucerne Avenue to C Street, and Lake Osborne Drive from Griswold Drive to Erie Street in the City of Lake Worth Beach began on January 3, 2024. Work includes milling and resurfacing existing travel lanes, constructing a six-foot wide sidewalk along the east side of Lake Osborne Drive, installing a raised crosswalk with signalization on Lucerne Avenue just east of N B Street, upgrading pedestrian signals and curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, and upgrading lighting along Lake Worth Road. The outside lane of the SR 802/Lake Worth Road Roundabout will be closed nightly from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m., Wednesday, Apr. 17, and Thursday, Apr. 18, for paving operations. Sunday, Apr. 21 and Monday, Apr. 22 will be used as contingency dates.
Detour Information:
Eastbound traffic needing to access northbound N A Street will be detoured around the circle, making a left turn onto S B Street, then a left turn onto Lucerne Avenue.
Westbound traffic needing to access southbound S A Street will turn left at N C Street, then left on 1st Ave S.

SR 802/Lake Avenue/Lucerne Avenue Resurfacing, Restoration, and Rehabilitation Project
Description: This 2.382-mile project from east of A Street to east of Golfview Road in the City of Lake Worth Beach began on February 27, 2024. Work includes milling and resurfacing the existing roadway, replacing and upgrading signing and pavement markings, install new and upgrade existing lighting throughout the project corridor, upgrading pedestrian features at signalized intersections, upgrading pedestrian curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Cost/Completion: $5.4 million/Early 2025
Traffic Impacts:
Intermittent sidewalk closures will occur starting at the intersection of the North side of the project limits at Lucerne Avenue from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday, for removal of existing concrete, and pouring of new sidewalk and curb and gutters. Pedestrian detours will be in place, and access to businesses will be maintained.
One lane in each direction will be closed intermittently from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., Monday through Friday morning, for directional bores at the intersections of Lucerne Avenue and Dixie Highway, Lucerne Avenue and Federal Highway, Lake Avenue and Federal Highway, and Lake Avenue and Dixie Highway.

State Road (SR) 5/North Federal Highway Milling and Resurfacing Project
Description: This 1.298-mile project from south of 10th Avenue South to 6th Avenue North in Lake Worth Beach is anticipated to begin Late May/Early June. Project improvements include milling and resurfacing the existing roadway, adding drainage and constructing a raised intersection at 7th Avenue South, upgrading pedestrian curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, installing signalized pedestrian crossings with Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs) at 8th Avenue South, 3rd Avenue North, and 4th Avenue North, removing the existing midblock crossing between 4th Avenue North and 5th Avenue North, upgrading vehicular and pedestrian signalization at 6th Avenue South and 2nd Avenue North, installing lighting at the intersections of 8th Avenue South, 6th Avenue South, 2nd Avenue North, 3rd Avenue North, and 4th Avenue North, and upgrading signage and pavement markings for shared bicycle facilities and buffered bicycle lanes. 6th Avenue South Improvements at SR 9/I-95
Description: This 1-mile project in the City of Lake Worth Beach began on November 13, 2023. Project improvements consist of lengthening the turn lanes on 6th Avenue South, adding an exclusive right turn lane to the SR 9/I-95 northbound on ramp, adding an additional right turn lane to the SR 9/I-95 southbound on ramp, lengthening the northbound left turn lane at A Street, constructing 6-foot sidewalks on both sides of 6th Avenue South, constructing 7-foot bicycle lanes on both sides of 6th Avenue South, installing Wrong-Way Driving Countermeasures on the SR 9/I-95 northbound and southbound exit ramps, constructing 16-foot ground-mounted sound walls along the SR 9/I-95 northbound exit ramp and south side of 6th Avenue South, constructing new gravity wall, curb and gutter, traffic separator, median barrier, sidewalk and driveway along 6th Avenue South within project limits, upgrading drainage, signage, lighting, signalization and pavement markings, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) upgrades, and relocation of water, sewer and utilities for the City of Lake Worth Beach.

Traffic Impact:
6th Avenue South, from Michigan Avenue to South C Street, will have one lane closed in each direction through August 2024.
Ramp Impact:
The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from eastbound 6th Avenue South has the right turn lane closed to safely facilitate roadway and drainage operations.
The I-95 northbound exit ramp to eastbound 6th Avenue South has the right turn lane closed to safely facilitate roadway and drainage operations.
The I-95 northbound exit ramp to westbound 6th Avenue South has the left turn lane closed to safely facilitate roadway and drainage operations.
The I-95 southbound exit ramp to westbound 6th Avenue South has one right turn lane closed to safely facilitate the construction of a Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) wall and roadway construction.

SR 7/US 441 Resurfacing Project
Description: This 2-mile project in Royal Palm Beach began on August 17, 2023. The project improvements consist of milling and resurfacing the existing roadway, improving signing and pavement markings, upgrading pedestrian curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, and upgrading lighting and signalization at the following intersections: Weisman Way/Bella Terra Way, Belvedere Road, Business Park Way, Regal Cinemas 18, Aldi Way, and Okeechobee Boulevard. Traffic Impacts:
Intermittent single-lane closures will occur in each direction of SR 7/US 441 from north of SR 80/Southern Boulevard to SR 704/Okeechobee Boulevard, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday for installation of erosion control devices, sidewalk, bus pads, lighting, and signalization upgrades.

Southern Boulevard (SR 80) Bridges Replacement Project
Description: This 0.76-mile project includes replacing the existing bascule (draw) bridge and tide relief bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway (ICWW) and Lake Worth Lagoon between the Town of Palm Beach and the City of West Palm Beach. The project limits are between Washington Road in West Palm Beach and State Road A1A/South Ocean Boulevard in Palm Beach. New decorative lighting, pedestrian features, traffic signals, signage and drainage are included. SR 809/Military Trail at SR 882/Forest Hill Boulevard Intersection Improvements Project
Description: This 0.705-mile intersection improvement project on State Road 809/Military Trail and SR 882/Forest Hill Boulevard in Palm Beach County began on September 6, 2022. Work includes widening, milling, and resurfacing along SR 809/Military Trail and SR 882/Forest Hill Boulevard, constructing additional right and left turn lanes on SR 809/Military Trail and additional right turn lanes on SR 882/Forest Hill Boulevard, installing new 5-foot bike lanes at various locations along SR 882/Forest Hill Boulevard, improving sidewalks and driveways at the intersection of SR 809/Military Trail and SR 882/Forest Hill Boulevard, installing four new signal mast arms at the intersection, and installing new signage and pavement markings. State Road (SR) 5/US 1 Improvements Project
Description: This 0.437-mile road improvements project on SR 5/US 1 from North Quadrille Boulevard to Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard in the City of West Palm Beach began on Thursday, September 14, 2023. Work includes milling and resurfacing the existing roadway, improving curb and gutter, signing and pavement markings, upgrading pedestrian curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, and upgrading pedestrian signalization.
