BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — We suspect it’s just a matter of time before virtual psychologist services reach out to buy ads on BocaNewsNow.com. We’re sure it’s clear to them — as it is to us — that there are a lot of people in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, and across South Palm Beach County who are in great need of serious help. How else could you explain the never-ending list of people bringing dogs where they do not belong? Fortunately, Boca Rudeton is here to identify the people who you may want to assist, should you interact with these people while you’re out and about obeying laws.

%%
Man with dog in Walmart Boynton Beach.

We start with the guy, above, at the Walmart in Boynton Beach on Federal Highway. Our reader asks why he feels it necessary to parade his dog through the store, especially the area where food is sold. We note that’s illegal. But we also note that we don’t have an answer. Consider him nominated for a Boca Rudeton award.

%%
This dog seems as confused as we are, wondering why it’s in the Publix at Boca Village Square.

Next up: the man above with a dog in the Publix at Boca Village Square. The tipster says the man is speaking with the meat manager at the store, which makes you wonder, why is that Publix employee not enforcing the company’s rule about no dogs in the store? Publix has huge signs that state pets are not allowed.

%%
Why is this dog at the bar in Sicilian Oven in West Delray Beach?

Our next nominee this week comes to us from someone at Sicilian Oven at Lyons and Atlantic in West Delray Beach. The tipster correctly questions why a dog is sitting at the bar when there’s not only an outdoor eating area, but when there are state and federal laws that prohibit this from happening. Good question, dear reader. Good question! Consider this person nominated.

%%
Is it all Greek to the woman with the dog at “It’s All Greek To Me?” Dogs are illegal in restaurants. Even in West Boca.

And maybe rules are all Greek to the woman in the photo above, but not to the State of Florida. You can’t have a dog in a restaurant. But that didn’t stop this woman from bringing a dog into “It’s All Greek To Me” in the Reserve shopping center in West Boca. No matter what language you use, this absolutely translates into a Boca Rudeton nomination.

So who is our winner for this edition? It’s none other than “Guy With Dog At Sicilian Oven In West Delray Beach.” We don’t know why he needs to eat at a bar with an animal. We don’t know what people think when they leave their home — with a dog — and believe, “it’s perfectly fine for me to bring this animal into a restaurant.” Perhaps this gentleman doesn’t think much at all! So for him, we award the first ever Boca Rudeton “thinking cap.” It doesn’t really exist. But if it does, we think it will look great on his head. Congrats on the win!

We remind our readers that there is no expectation of privacy in a public place. Don’t want to be seen here? Don’t be rude here! Send your submissions to us using the menu buttons above. 1. First, it’s against health code and therefore can be closed and fined for said violation and it’s also store policy (with the exception of real service animals) and no, emotional support animals do not qualify as service animals under the rules adopted

      2. Well I’m sure that’s why you will die alone.. don’t compare kids with animals but I’m sure you also consider a fetus a child you stupid liberal!

    1. Funny thing.. all the cities named are high income and may feel privileged for their dog to be there. I have allergies to pet hair and dander and find that inconsiderate

    2. I would like to CONGRATS to you for your AMAZING job. Those articles about dogs in places were they don’t belong confirmed that I am not wrong when I wonder ??
Why a dog is setting on the same shopping cart that l will use for my foods??
Why l have to eat next to a dog that is shaking, sneezing or barking in my favorite restaurant??
      And another thousand questions more.
Please keep going until ours authorities finally do their job.
And again thank you so much for a wonderful job.

    3. Really a reply to BocaNewsNow.
      1. Who is responsible to enforce these state and Federal laws?
The Board of Health, Police, a licensing agency, Federal authorities, stores and restaurants themselves, etc.
Why don’t you investigate and ask each what they are doing to enforce this and punish violators?
Have you asked each for their comments/reply as to why there are so many violation and seemingly so little enforcement?

    4. I could not agree more.. I’m in TX and feel ostracized for even bringing up this foul matter…the list of retail establishments that allow this gets longer and longer

  1. HI Boca News, I completely agree that the people who continue to being animals into restaurants and stores where food is being served and is offered is completely difficult to understand. Now that you raised the issue, about pyschological help.

Here is this: even more so. I know that you don’t get into politics, if you want to call it this:

I, for the life of me, more so than the dog issue, cannot understand how seemingly sane people, supposedly with a brain in their head, can be a Trump supporter. I don’t talk to people about it but a women brought it up the other day and I asked her about why she supports Trump and pointed out what Trump has done and does, and still she supports him which does NOT make any sense. That is why I am writing. It is more understandable why people bring pets into the restaurant than why people would support Trump when the things he has done and said are completely not liked by those same people.

    1. The topic was dogs, not Trump. Why would people vote for Biden, who can’t put two sentences together, who has taken our country to hell in a handbasket.
Open borders, inflation. Maybe you are a lucky one and are a millionaire who doesn’t worry about the cost of things in this county, and that since Biden has taken office Seniors are suffering terribly. How do I know, I help them. It is a disgrace what he has done to this country. Stop with your Trump derangement syndrome. I’m not saying Trump is great, what I’m saying is stop talking about Trump as Biden has caused this Country harm. If you don’t get it you need the dog psychiatrist.

BTW people were talking about dogs. THEY DON’T BELONG IN A GROCERY STORE, THEY DON’T BELONG IN A RESTAURANT, AND DON’T BELONG ANYWHERE WHERE FOOD IS SERVED. PEOPLE HAVE ALLERGIES TO DOGS AND CATS, PEOPLE HAVE ASTHMA AND COPD, NOT GOOD FOR THOSE PEOPLE.

    2. Difficult to comprehend a vote for someone obviously demented; unable to complete a sentence that’s comprehensible, brings in 500,000 immigrants (health and drugs unvetted), has spent taxpayers’ money into three generations, now wants to import Palestinians.

      1. I could be mistaken but I don’t see Fred Stein’s comment to you so much as comparing your love for dogs to being a Trump supporter. Nothing you wrote even mentioned Trump. I took his statement to mean Don’t sweat the small stuff…worry about the real threats. A man who created an insurrection and advocated for the hanging of the vice president AND the Speaker of the House is pretty sick and dangerous. A man who said …”there are very fine people on both sides…” when referring to white supremacists is pretty scary. A man who said he would be a Dictator on day ONE is Chilling. You may not be aware of what I have just posted if you do not watch the news, BTW FOX is not news, it is propaganda. So since you have admitted to being a tRump supporter I hope you will someday Open your Eyes, preferably beforE election day. IF tRump gets in again DEMOCRACY WILL DIE FOEEVER

      2. The anti-Trump people are so scared that he’s going to take back the presidency and bring back America first, but they will blame him for anything. The weather dogs in the stores. The one thing they won’t do is leave. Move to France somewhere if you don’t like it here.

      1. So you are saying it’s ok to have a man who is a convicted criminal for Rape and abusive of females and put our sons and daughters serving in the armed forces subject to possible harm when a man sleeps with our enemy Putin a terrorist trump is in American Traitor to the US

    3. Fred, have you watched any interviews with Trump supporters? They are insane. I heard a man say that even if Trump shot someone on the steps of the White House he would still support him. A woman said that if Trump doesn’t win, she doesn’t want to live. And go back over these postings. Someone said that liberals think a fetus is a child. Confused? Just FYI, I couldn’t take it any more and moved to Mexico. I fear for America. If Trump wins, that’s the end of democracy as we know it. If Bidens wins, there will be violence in the streets.

  2. It is definitely not only rude but unhealthy to bring a dog into a restaurant or market! And most of these people do not seem to have a need for a guard dog! It’s as unhealthy as having a cat walk all over kitchen counters with all their hairs falling into food! I had a weird encounter of cat hair in my plate once and it was horrible!

      1. What’s truly disgusting is babies with dirty diapers and snotty noses in shopping carts but you haters of man’s best friends obsess about this. Unreal! Find something productive and helpful to do with your lives!

    1. And what about children in dirty diapers and snotty noses in grocery carts? They carry far more germs than dogs who are simply walking in stores. You folks really need to get a life and learn to be critical thinkers. And BocaNewsNow team, this is not news and you are no journalist. You clearly have nothing better to do, dog hater! Anyone who hates man’s best friends needs that psychological help!

      1. What about dogs that don’t wear any diapers and just poop on the ground as I have witnessed many times, and guess what the owner doesn’t even notice it. Based on your comment you are the one who needs help kind of ironic that the first two letters of KAY are also the first two letters of Karen. Also, if you actually did your research you will notice you are absolutely completely mistaken about who carries more unhealthy germs to humans, it is dogs, not children, go read a book before making ridiculous comments. There is a health reason dogs are not allowed on beaches and other areas.

      2. Ah! Snotty nose kids! Even when i was a child that grossed me out. Hey guess what, the number of people who want to love on my dog and take pictures with her is unbelievable. Dogs are love and should be allowed anywhere a disgusting child does. I live in Boca and take my giant goldendoodle everywhere. If you see us in public, feel free to pet her. It will brighten your day unlike a screaming child. As for those with allergies, I have a peanut allergy but you don’t see me bitching about someone bringing a reeses peanut butter cup near me. Get a life people. We live in Boca. We should be thankful to have that privilege. Instead you’re all up in arms about such a tiny thing.

        1. I agree Doodlemom has some serious issues, does Doodlemom fail to recognize that human babies will grow up to support society and become the people to care for her in nursing homes and hospitals? I don’t believe dogs will help her shower or perform surgeries on her. I am baffled that someone could even type out what Doodlemom helped and agree whoever wrote that seriously needs psychiatric help, and just remember we were all babies at one point!! But only you were a dog at one point!

      3. No, it’s not, but if you’re worried about public safety to this degree than I trust you’ve never broken the speed limit or rolled through a stop sign because those are both actually dangerous, not just something you find annoying and want to justify complaining about with something that seems objective.

        1. Amen! These Bocahontases will find anything to complain about. These are the same people who walk into an ulta and get nasty because they don’t carry sephora brand products.

    2. When are you going to start monitoring the terrible driving in and around Boca Raton: Rare turn signals; broken, non-funcitoning lights; slowest drivers in the left lanes; zigging and zagging without signals; treating upper speed limits as minimum speeds, etc? Building is happening everywhere, traffic is increasing exponentially, there is zero courtesy to other drivers. It’s like a free-for-all and there is almost no police presence anywhere. I have been hit and almost hit countless times, once by a woman texting, another woman missed the right turn so turned into the left turn lane, a man on Palmetto swerved left and almost hit me and then took a right turn at the light… Whether this is more serious than small dogs in bags I don’t know. But I do know it’s serious–and getting worse by the minute.

    3. Although my wife and I have two dogs and do not bring them into restaurants or stores, I think it’s a tiny problem. We recently visited NYC and saw dogs indoors in many places but I haven’t heard of any great outbreaks of disease or other issues caused by this.
Relax, people. Stress is bad for you.

    4. To Sandy, if you don’t like the law have it changed but right now it is illegal for any animal dog cat ferret, hamster horse cow whatever to be in any establishment that serves or has open food unless it’s a service animal and specifically trained companion animal, psychiatric companion, animals, pets, etc. are not service animals the owner as of July one can even go to jail severely fined Establishment that the animal is in can be shut down and forced to do a complete and thorough sanitation which in the case of forensic of Publix would cost them 1 to 2 business days and thousands of dollars examples need to be made and the other companies will get it really fast I love dogs. I have a real service animal I get ass all the time what’s the difference between a service animal and an emotional support dog the quick and easy answer $20,000

    5. We’ve got 99 ,000 problems in Boca, Palm Beach County and Florida in general, but the staff at this news source decides to essentially troll people to incite them to argue about dogs.
How about we care less about the 1 out of 250 people going around with a poodle and worry more about the actual crime, traffic, home insurance debacle and over crowding that’s been going on and ramping up lately.

    6. We have so many real problems and this is what this ridiculous publication is focusing on? SMH! As someone else pointed out, we have dangerous drivers and no police presence. We have criminal condo and H.O.A boards stealing and this publication is hyper concerned about dogs in stores? Most here really need to get a life!

    7. I worked as a manager at a big food chain here in S. Florida for 25 years. We all know this is a problem! However, existing ADA laws require that service animals be allowed to accompany a disabled owner on premises. And HIPPA laws make it illegal to require that the person disclose the nature of their disability, or show documents to store personnel. These are ALSO laws, and well-intended; but effectively tie the hands of businesses who are faced with humans who abuse the limits that disability & patient privacy rights protect. It’s widely abused; there are even businesses that sell fake “Service Dog” gear and certificates online to capitalize on it. Instead of being angry at store managers and staff who are caught between conflicting laws, and face potential litigation and bad publicity either way, contact your government representative. Insist that laws are changed so a badge or card is easily displayed, and duplicating or forging them are felonies. Restrict sales of Service Dog gear, and require that vendors confirm medical providers have certified a disability exists before such items can be purchased or worn. People who legitimately need a service animal should not have to forego their rights! Actual service animals are well-trained to strictly confine their movement & behavior in public, and are focused to protect/assist their owners, and pose no hazard to others. But pets, who may jump on people, urinate, or otherwise cause problems, belong at home.

    8. Really amazes me how so many are nasty to each other here in the comments section. It’s OK to voice your opinion without taking jabs at each other. Boca used to be a nice happy place to live. Once upon a time, West Boca started at Dixie Hwy. I sure miss those carefree happy days.

    9. Did you notice one of the dog owners was wearing a t-shirt that said, ‘Get Lost.’ So many meanings in that. Are we lost? Have we lost manners? We can boycott the places that allow illegal pets into stores. We can ask managers to ask the pet owners to bring their pets outside. Will that change this situation? Until we have laws that are enforced, it will stay the same. Shaming the pet owners may not change the pet owner’s behavior. Politically this issue on the scale of what else is happening in our world is not as life altering as war, poverty, or other issues, BUT as we see disease as an issue, pets can be carriers of disease so this is a cause to think about.
