UPDATE: 9:30 a.m. — Coconut Creek PD just alerted a bit of good news. One eastbound lane is now open. Traffic is moving, but very slowly.

BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A truck fire is causing huge problems in the area of Lyons Road and Sample Road.

Coconut Creek Police reporting the tractor-trailer fire is on the Pompano Beach side of the area, but traffic is backing up across a huge portion of the Lyons and Sample Road area. Expect major delays from the turnpike to Lyons.

Police say the fire is out as of 9 a.m., but the contents of the tractor trailer need to be unloaded, and that is expected to take quite some time. Expect delays in the area throughout the morning.

We’ll update when we learn more from Coconut Creek police.
