UPDATE at 7:08 a.m. — Military Trail is now open in both directions.
BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — There’s no official word why but the Boca Raton Police Department is closing southbound Military Trail at Clint Moore Road early Wednesday morning. The closure starts at 6:30 a.m.
An alert transmitted by the City of Boca Raton says the closure is “traffic related.” It is notably not far from the area where an FAU student was struck and killed by a vehicle on Sunday. Read more about that death here.
Motorists are being encouraged to find alternate routes to travel southbound between Clint Moore and Yamato — and possibly Glades Road. Jog Road to the west should be an effective alternate, although expect major delays if traffic normally using Military Trail is rerouted to Jog Road.
The closure is supposed to start at 6:30 and continue for less than an hour. We’ll update as soon as we learn more.
