DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Delray Beach resident is starting Wednesday in the Palm Beach County Jail following his arrest for four major charges filed by the Delray Beach Police Department.
While the arrest report continues to be processed early Wednesday, the Palm Beach County Jail tells BocaNewsNow.com that Drew Wertheimer, 34, is charged with “Kidnap, False Imprisonment,” “Aggravated Battery — Cause Bodily Harm or Disability,” “Assault — Aggravated with Intent to Commit a Felony,” and “Obstructing Justice — Hinder Witness Communication Information To Law Enforcement or Judge.”
Wertheimer was booked into jail at 7:33 p.m. on Tuesday. Bond had not been sent for any of the charges as of 6 a.m. Wednesday. It was not immediately clear what led police to Wertheimer or where the arrest occurred. His residential address is listed as the 2200 block of NW 14th Street in Delray.
The Palm Beach County Clerk of Court reports that this is Wertheimer’s first interaction with the criminal court system in Palm Beach County.
