A shooting in Broward County on the Florida Turnpike left a mom and her daughter injured.

UPDAT: 3:48 p.m. — We’ve received an update from the Broward Sheriff’s Office, which writes: “Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman and her four-year-old daughter. They were both found with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle on the Florida Turnpike last night.

Shortly after 11:50 p.m., on Friday, June 7, Florida Highway Patrol advised they responded to a report of a shooting on the Florida Turnpike northbound near Mile Marker 49 just south of Hollywood Boulevard. The preliminary investigation revealed the shooting occurred at approximately 11:14 p.m. 

On scene, FHP troopers located Beatrice Saintvil and her daughter injured with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle. The vehicle was parked in the left break down lane. Hollywood Fire Rescue responded to the scene and transported Saintvil to a local hospital where she later died. Sadly, her daughter was pronounced deceased on scene. 

At the request of FHP, BSO homicide detectives responded to the scene and are currently investigating this fatal shooting.

Florida Highway Patrol, which is responsible for incidents on the Turnpike, rushed to the scene and issued this recap to BocaNewsNow.com:

“Shortly after 11:50 p.m., on Friday, June 7, Florida Highway Patrol responded to a report of a shooting on the Florida Turnpike northbound near Mile Marker 49 just south of Hollywood Boulevard. On scene, FHP located one woman and one girl injured with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle.
