BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Palmetto Park Road bridge in East Boca Raton is set to close for part of the weekend. If you use the bridge, you’re being encouraged to figure out an alternate route.
This advisory from Palm Beach County Engineering and Public Works explains what’s happening, and why:
The Palmetto Park Bascule Bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway will be closed from 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2024, to 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 4, 2024, for essential machinery replacement and regular maintenance by the Palm Beach County Engineering and Public Works (EPW), Bridge Section.
During this 12-hour closure, both vehicle and pedestrian traffic will be redirected. Drivers should use the Spanish River Boulevard Bridge via NE 5th Avenue, U.S. Highway 1, and Alternate A1A for detour routes. EPW appreciates the community’s patience and understanding during this temporary closure. We are committed to enhancing the safety and efficiency of the County’s infrastructure.
