BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — One life is over and another permanently scarred after a woman’s driving apparently leads to her husband’s death in Deerfield Beach. The Broward Sheriff’s Office says Rose Pollack, 89, was driving in Deerfield when she hit a tree. The crash killed her husband, 82-year-old Martin. Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit are investigating a single-vehicle crash that left one man dead in Deerfield Beach.
According to investigators, the crash occurred at approximately 5:02 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, near the 100 block of Southeast Seventh Street. The preliminary on-scene investigation revealed Rose Pollack was driving a green 2024 Hyundai Kona with Martin Pollack in the passenger seat. Investigators say Rose Pollack was driving out of a residential neighborhood when she lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree.
BSO district deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded to the scene. Paramedics transported both persons to a local hospital where Martin Pollack was pronounced deceased.
