POLICE: DRANK BOTTLE OF WINE, GRABBED FAMILY DOG, HARASSED CHILDREN.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The homeowner in Lotus Boca Raton arrested last week on multiple charges allegedly drank a full bottle of wine, then attempted to strangle a senior citizen relative in the house. That’s the allegation made in the arrest report obtained by BocaNewsNow.com.
Dana Melnikoff, who lives in the 8000 block of White Wave Terrace in Lotus, was taken into custody on August 13th. She was booked into jail just after midnight on August 14th and was released more than 24-hours later on $4,000 bond.
This is what police wrote in their initial report: “Upon arrival I spoke with (an alleged witness) who told me that (Melnikoff) arrived home intoxicated at approximately 8 p.m. While home she consumed a 750ML bottle of wine. At this time (Melnikoff) began to upset the family by arguing and grabbing at the family dog. This upset the children who both began to cry. (Melnikoff’s) live in boyfriend attempted to stop. (Melnioff’s) live in boyfriend attempted to stop (Melnikoff) from harassing the children and the family dog to a point where the boyfriend (and a senior citizen in the home) intervened and stood between the children and (Melnikoff).
The (senior citizen) also attempted to assist and calm (Melnikoff) down by standing between the children and (Melnikoff). (Melnikoff) grabbed (the senior citizen) by her throat and left a red mark on the left side of her neck. Seeing the battery on (the senior citizen) the boyfriend tried to stop (Melnikoff) and sustained marks and small scratches on his arms. I find probable cause to charge Dana Melnikoff with battery on a 65-year-old or older, and battery simple.”
Dana Melnikoff was charged with battery back in March and apparently placed on probation for that crime during a court appearance on her latest arrest.
