MAVIS Corporation Pushing Tires, Not Customer Service, At South Florida Locations Including Boca Raton.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — If you need tires for your car, BocaNewsNow.com suggests staying away from Mavis Tire Kingdom locations across the South Florida region. Store and regional management tell BocaNewsNow.com that the company is quadruple booking — and often more than quadruple booking — single appointment times. The result: extreme wait times regardless of when and where you booked your appointment for tires, oil changes, battery checks, and more.
In a random sampling by BocaNewsNow.com in the Tire Kingdom location on U.S. 441 near Yamato Road, customers with specific appointments Tuesday were waiting in excess of three hours for routine tire changes — something that should take less than one hour.
“What’s happening is our local store(s) can’t see the reservations booked online when they’re booking reservations in person or on the phone,” said Regional Manager Hector Rivera in a phone call with BocaNewsNow.com on Tuesday. “We sometimes have eight cars coming in for one appointment slot. It’s not a good situation and if it’s not handled correctly, it’s very bad for the customer. I want safety to be first, but long waits are unacceptable.”
A store manager in the Boca Raton location confirmed Rivera’s assessment.
“We can’t see what’s being booked on the Tire Kingdom website when we are booking here in the store,” said the manager. “So customers come in and are unhappy to find out that their 10 a.m. appointment may not be handled until noon or later because we booked appointments here in the store. We sometimes have lots of appointments booked for one slot.”
BocaNewsNow.com reached out to Mavis headquarters in White Plains, New York, but was referred to an outsourced public relations company in California. A representative from that company claimed Mavis was unaware of the booking issues at its Tire Kingdom locations, despite regional management stating that the company has been told repeatedly that there’s a problem.
”While we are not aware of any issues related to our booking systems,“ said the Tire Kingdom outsourced spokesperson, “we are looking into this matter. We welcome customer feedback and take all concerns very seriously. We appreciate the opportunity to serve our customers and we value our employees who work hard to provide exceptional service.”
The Better Business Bureau reports that Tire Kingdom at 19571 State Road 7 in Boca Raton is not accredited by the BBB, and carries a D-minus rating as part of the Tire Kingdom chain. The company faced more than 1,170 complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau over the past three years.
“I feel very badly for customers who believe their reservations will be honored on time,” said Rivera, the regional manager. “We get the car in (to a service bay), but often it just sits there. There are mornings we come in and there are 15 cars waiting with people who all think they have the first appointment of the day. Some booked online, others booked on the phone. The system is a problem.”
Tire Kingdom is owned by “Mavis Tire Express Corp.,” which took control of the company from TBC Brands, a company with executive offices in Palm Beach Gardens, in 2023. The majority of Tire Kingdom locations are in Florida and Texas.

I’ve used their competitor Tire Plus for over 10 years. Been hit or miss since the pandemic. Got a flat in Minnesota on summer vacation. Changed the tire and found the local Tires Plus to patch the flat one. They said they were backed up for two weeks.
Drove down the block and found Discount Tire. They did it in an hour and they DONT CHARGE to fix flats. Closest store is Lake Worth but I may go there for tires in the future just for that.
Have heard great things about Discount Tire from friends in other parts of the country. Just hope they come down to Broward County or the Boca area soon. Hear that service is excellent with competitive prices so what’s not to like. Went to Tire Kingdom years ago but was always disappointing to say the least. Goodyear owned stores are no better! Prefer Tires Plus for all our tire needs as they are everywhere and give good service…we’re very satisfied customers!
I see that issue also with tires plus and other tire places. The shape of things . Airlines overbooking. Restaurants overbooking. Doctors overbooking. I make sure wherever I go I plan to be more time than expected or just go to Macdonald or jiffy lube for a quick and mediocre service
