Police Released Surveillance Photo. The Public Identified Suspect As Robert Drennen.

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The man police say switched the price tags on art work in a Lake Worth gallery has apparently been nabbed. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office issued this statement to BocaNewsNow.com around 9 p.m. Thursday:
Through investigative means, Robert J. Drennen, was positively identified as the suspect who stole the valuable custom art. Today, September 5, 2024, the Honorable Cheryl Caracuzzon issued a residential search warrant for Drennen’s home. Both pieces of artwork were located in and recovered from the home. Drennen was arrested and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on the charges of Larceny and Grand Theft. Drennen lives on Marbletree Lane in Lake Worth.
As we first reported last week: “The unknown suspect entered the business located in 700 block of Lake Ave, City of Lake Worth Beach and proceeded to switch the tags on the merchandise which allowed him to purchase $6,500.00 worth of custom artwork for $50.00. This incident occurred on August 10, 2024 just after 3:00 pm.”
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office released a photo at the time and asked the public to held identity the man. The public did. Drennen remains behind bars Thursday night. A court date is pending.
