Closing Boca PlayStation To Sell, Not Donate Toys

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) — We were the first to report several weeks ago that Boca PlayStation, the indoor playground near Butts Road and Town Center Mall was closing for good — marking the end of what was really an era of indoor play places for young children in and around Boca Raton. Now comes word that the owners of Boca PlayStation will be auctioning all toys and contents of the facility on Monday, June 16th.
Doors open at 9 am with the auction commencing at 11. Boca PlayStation is located at 2240 NW 19th Street in Boca Raton.
At the risk of editorializing, we note that following the original announcement, several readers — and the owners — wrote that Boca PlayStation wasn’t closing due to financial issues, just the fact that the owners wanted to relocate to the UK. We question, however, why they wouldn’t donate the hundreds of toys to any of the many child-focused charities in and around South Palm Beach County. There are families that couldn’t afford the $12 admission to Boca PlayStation — perhaps this would provide to them the opportunity to enjoy “dress up,” riding toys and other fun features that they otherwise may not have access to.
