BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Boca Raton murder suspect Devante LaShawn Moss has a criminal history spanning from South Florida to Tennessee, according to criminal and civil records reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com. Boca Raton police say Moss was arrested in Georgia Saturday afternoon. He is expected to be charged in the Friday afternoon murders of two hotel guests on Ocean Blvd. Read our coverage of the murders here.
Moss, according to records we reviewed using several databases, lives in the 1200 block of Coastal Bay Boulevard in Boynton Beach which is in the Coastal Bay community. He has called this residence “home” since April of 2022. He used that address to register a business, Demariya Enterprises, LLC. He lists that business as his employer.
Over the past decade or so, Moss has listed addresses in Memphis, TN; Coconut Creek, FL; Los Angeles, CA; Palm Springs, FL; Delray Beach, FL; and Lake Worth, FL. He was arrested for marijuana possession in South Florida back in 2014 — he was later convicted on the charge. Moss received several motor vehicle violations in South Florida over the past several years, and was cited for driving with a suspended license in Shelby County, TN, in September of 2017. He was arrested at the scene but the charge was not prosecuted.
Moss has no social media presence of note. He is expected to be extradited to Boca Raton over the next day or so to face two homicide charges and one charge of attempted homicide. When you wrote “criminal history”, I have to say I was expecting a little more than driving on suspended license and busted for some ganja.
That being said, as someone with three daughters, if someone steals your purse, please let them have it. Dont chase them, not worth it. Three people would have not been shot if, from what is sounds like, she didn’t give chase. Obviously this guy is scum of the earth, that goes without saying. Prayers to the victims family. So tragic and unnecessary loss of life 😢

Why was this man with a criminal history not in prison? Too many people are released from jail, with a slap on the wrist, and then go on to commit more crimes. As a lawabiding person, I don’t understand this. I say lock them up. This world is getting to be a scary place. I’m just thankful I never had kids.
Why have they not told back story regarding the victims. They say 2 hotel guests ? Were they staying together? Was the man killed a bystander was he a hotel guest who tried to help? Was the 3 rd man a bystander hotel guest, one that was hurt? Will the victims names be released? Did the shooter and women know each other. Very strange just purse snatching which was left in parking lot. Why did he target women’s room ? Just entered and took purse? Did they know each other? 3 people were shot over a purse that the shooter didn’t manage to take was in left parking lot.
Story missing details. Man died on easement end of my back driveway so all very disturbing.
