DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A homeowner in the west Delray Bach community of Seven Bridges is facing foreclosure over nearly $1M in debt. A lawsuit was just filed in Palm Beach County Circuit Court seeking either the money or the house at 16801 Pavilion Way.

Accoridng to the complaint obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, Alejandro Tejeda and Martha Tajeda purchased the home in December of 2016 for $1,249,772, mortgaging most of the purchase price. They stopped paying the mortgage to Fifth Third Bank in September of 2023. They had already received a “loan modification” by the time they stopped paying. The IRS filed a tax lien on the couple in 2022.

The complaint asserts that the Tajedas now owe $968,894.90 to Fifth Third Bank. The IRS says the couple owes the agency nearly $200,000. It was not immediately clear if the couple owes the Seven Bridges Homeowner Association money as well.
