DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The next meeting of the “Kings Point Crime, Coffee, and Canasta Club” (if such a club exists) will be so large that it may have to move to the main club house, now that the senior living community has logged its 26th resident arrest of the year and 46th since the start of 2023.
The latest alleged criminal living in Kings Point Delray Beach is Cecilia Lehman. She’s accused of using a crack pipe and then not showing up in court. Lehman was arrested Saturday night in Boynton Beach. Police across Palm Beach County had been looking for her since she failed to show up for a court date on the crack pipe charge and a related trespass charge. BocaNewsNow.com obtained that original arrest report. Here’s what police in Delray Beach wrote back in September when they made the initial arrest:
“The following incident occurred in the City of Delray Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida. On 08/31/24 at 0003 hours, I made contact with Cecilia Lehman at 714 W Atlantic Ave. Lehman was sitting down and leaning her back on the building that had clearly posted “No Trespassing” signs. Lehman had a lighter in her hand and a clear glass tube (crack pipe) sitting on the ground next to her. The glass pipe also had burnt edges and copper chore boy stuffed into one side. Through my training, knowledge, and experience, I know this glass pipe to be used to smoke crack cocaine.
I asked Lehman if all she had in her possession was the “stem” in which she stated yes. “Stem” is a street-level narcotics term for a crack pipe. I utilized an agency-provided presumptive test kit, in which the cylinder glass pipe yielded a positive reaction for traces of cocaine. The suspected crack pipe was placed into evidence. Based on the above facts, probable cause exists to charge Lehman with FSS 810.09 (2B) Trespass After Warning & FSS 893.147 (1) Possession/Use of Drug Paraphernalia. Lehman was given an NTA which she signed.”
That NTA, or notice to appear, meant she was supposed to show up for court. Police say she did not. Cops in Boynton Beach located Lehman Saturday night and took her into custody. She is in the Palm Beach County Jail Sunday morning. Bond is set at $2000.
Kings Point Delray Beach, according to BocaNewsNow.com unofficial records, has more residents arrested on criminal offenses than any other senior living community in South Florida. Among the charges residents have faced over the past two years: gun crimes, sex abuse crimes, child pornography crimes, assault and battery crimes, drug crimes, DUI crimes, and more.
