BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — For the second time in two days, a major crash is causing major traffic problems on I-95 in Boca Raton mid-day. This crash is I-95 Southbound in the area of Yamato Road. The crash was first reported just after noon.
Traffic cameras monitored by BocaNewsNow.com show a huge backup in the area of Spanish River Boulevard. The delays extend as far as the eye can see (on the cameras) which suggests it’s several miles and building. The Florida Department of Transportiation issued this advisory:
“Crash in Palm Beach County on I-95 South, beyond Exit 48: SR-794/Yamato Rd. 3 Right lanes blocked. Last updated at 12:25 PM. Road Ranger Ahead. Move Over or Slow Down.”

We know that Boca Raton Fire Rescue is on the scene. Expect delays to continue for quite some time. It does appear that the express lanes are moving. They’re a great option if you’re willing to pay (it’s free if you have a registered EV or HOV. Otherwise, you’ll be billed).
We know you’re asking but for now, we don’t know why there have been two major crashes in roughly the same area at roughly the same time for two days running. Check back for updates.
