A St. Andrews Country Club resident was arrested following an incident at Saks Fifth Avenue in the Boca Raton Town Center Mall.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A resident of St. Andrew Country Club in Boca Raton is now out of the Palm Beach County Jail following her arrest Thursday by the Boca Raton Police Department. Ann Knee of the 6900 block of Queenferry Circle was released on $5,000 bond.

According to a police report obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, Knee was caught stealing a large quantity of clothing from Saks at the Boca Raton Town Center Mall. She was taken into custody Thursday afternoon and booked into jail around 7:15 p.m. She posted bond just before 2 a.m. Friday. Here’s what police wrote in the arrest report:

“The suspect was being detained by Saks Fifth Avenue loss prevention. I made contact with the security officer who advised he was made aware from a sales associate that there was a suspect inside the store that had stolen in the past. The officer was able to locate the suspect on CCTV, later identified as Ann Knee. At approximately 2:30 p.m., the security officer was able to locate Knee in the contemporary section of the store on the second floor with items selected. At approximately 2:50 p.m., Knee enters a pre-swept fitting room with her selected items with a white shopping bag.

At 3:06 p.m., Knee is seen walking past multiple points of sale, failed to pay for the concealed merchandise and exited the store from the second floor. The guard verbally identified himself as Saks Fifth Avenue’s Loss Prevention and notified Knee that she was being detained for shoplifting. The following items were stolen and recovered from Knee: Black and white top valued at $371, Dress valued at $595, Dress valued at $316.50. The total value: $1282.50.”

Boca Raton Police responded and questioned Knee. An officer says that Knee admitted to stealing the merchandise and that she knew it was wrong. Knee was arrested and additionally issued a “trespass warning” which prohibits her from coming back to Saks for the foreseeable future. Records indicate that Ms. Knee was previously accused of shoplifting at an area Publix and at Bloomingdale’s in the same mall.
