PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A huge fire Friday morning in Palm Beach County left at least two people injured and required a major response from Palm Beach County Fire Rescue. The fire was under control around 11 a.m.
BocaNewsNow.com has learned the fire started in a defective propane tank on Friendship Circle which is in the area of Jog Road and Lake Worth Road. The fire quickly grew. As firefighters worked to douse the flames, it apparently became clear that a leaking propane tank was fueling the flames — and the shutoff valve was inoperable. It’s unclear if that was the cause of the fire or a factor.
Two people suffered smoke inhalation injuries. Firefighters will likely be on the scene well into the afternoon. Expect traffic issues in the area which is technically “Greenacres.” The location is a residential address just behind retail establishments. Check back for updates.
