BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Parkland teen found dead in Coral Springs near Unviersity Drive and the Sawgrass Expressway has been identified by friends as Maxim Georgiev. The teen was reported missing shortly before his body was found.

Friends and neighbors of Max’s parents just launched a GoFundMe campaign to help the family pay for funeral and related expenses. The GoFundMe organization asked BocaNewsNow.com to help publicize the fundraising effort. Here’s what’s written in the listing:

“Our dear neighbors just lost their beautiful son and brother, Maxim, who was only 16 years old. Max was a brilliant, talented, and kind-hearted boy. He enjoyed snowboarding and was an excellent pianist and swimmer. He excelled in school and was on the swim team at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

As a tight-knit family, Max had so much love for his parents, Mila and Georgi, his big sister Diana and his little brother Leo (14), who all love him deeply and are suffering through this loss. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him, including his friends and the rest of his family, not to mention all the missed opportunities that come with the level of potential Max held.

We are raising funds to help cover funeral arrangements and lost wages while their family takes time to mourn. Please help us pour love and support onto them as they navigate this tragic loss. Funeral service details to be announced.”
