BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Police in Coconut Creek logged another win in the fight against crime when officers nabbed a Miami man who witnesses say broke a car window in the early morning hours of December 2nd. The man fled, but cops launched a “dragnet” and ultimately took him into custody. Here’s what Coconut Creek Police shared with BocaNewsNow.com:

“It all started with a 911 call at 2:11 that morning from a man in the 3700 block of NW 35th Street. The 911 caller said he watched as Bryan broke the car window of one of his neighbors. He thought he might be trying to steal it. The caller gave responding officers a good description of Scoles and the Jeep he left the scene in. Scoles initially eluded the officers’ dragnet, but an officer found his Jeep parked in the area, about 40 minutes after the 911 call. As the officer was investigating, Scoles came out of a wooded area near the Jeep, saw the officer, and took off running. It turned out he had stolen the Jeep from Miami-Dade County in October.

With the help of a Broward County Sheriff’s Office helicopter, officers apprehended Scoles a short time later. He was charged with vehicle burglary, grand theft auto, criminal mischief, and possession of several burglary tools officers found in that stolen Jeep. He was taken to the Broward County Jail.”

Bryan Scoles, age 26, was booked into the Broward County Jail. He remains held on $7,000 bond.
