PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A man is dead after apparently being struck in a hit-and-run crash late Friday night. His body was found on the side of the road.
West Palm Beach Police shared this narrative with BocaNewsNow.com and notes there is now a $3,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for the man’s death:
At 11:05 p.m. December 6, a 911 caller reported seeing an unconscious man lying in the road in the 2700 block of 45 Street, just west of Interstate 95. West Palm Beach Fire Department paramedics pronounced the man dead shortly after arriving.
West Palm Beach Police Department Traffic Homicide Unit detectives responded to the scene to begin the investigation. They determined the victim, identified as Drew Robert Winters, 44, of Altamonte Springs, was crossing 45th Street, from north to south, when he was struck by a silver car that took off after the crash. Winters was vaulted into the air after impact, and landed in the inside westbound travel lane.
Two westbound lanes were closed to traffic for about four hours while investigators collected evidence, and took photographs and measurements of the scene. Through the initial investigation, they were able to determine the hit-and-run car is a silver sedan, with front-end and windshield damage.
Anyone with information about the crash, or sees a car matching the description with the damage described, should call Detective Dan Dillard at 561-822-1629. Tips can also be reported anonymously to Crime Stoppers of Palm Beach County, at 1-800-458-TIPS (8477). Tips to Crime Stoppers that lead to an arrest can result in a cash reward of up to $3,000.

I’m so sorry, RIP
