The Year Changes But The Dog And Parking Problems Stay The Same. Oh, And We Have A New Category!

Boca Rudeton starts with a woman, a dog, and $125 Steak in NY PRIME!

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — If you thought people might be a bit less selfish in 2025, think again. Our first Boca Rudeton of the new year is jam packed with arguably idiotic dog owners and people who think they can park anywhere. But… before we get started, a request for a new category of photos! We know that you are sick and tired of people using their cell phone speakerphone like they’re communicating with Mr. Spock back on the Starship Enterprise. If you see people (or hear people) having conversations on a speakerphone in public, either take a pic or — better yet — take a video. They obviously want everyone to hear their conversation, so we’d like to share it with the world. There’s no reason they’re not using AirPods or their flashing Bluetooth dongle from the 90s, so let’s add these selfish yappers to Boca Rudeton. Use the news submission form on the menu, above.

This woman apparently thought it was perfectly fine to let her dog onto the table at NY Prime in Boca Raton. It’s not.

We start our first Boca Rudeton of 2025 with the woman, above. Who brings a dog into New York Prime in Boca Raton, and then lets it eat food off the table? That’s what our tipster wants to know, and we do, too. NY Prime (2350 NW Executive Center Drive) is considered a nice restaurant. Or at least it was. Before this woman put her dog on the table to possibly eat $125 steak. Only in Boca…

Dogs aren’t supposed to be in supermarkets, let alone shopping carts where food is placed.

Next up, we head to Fresh Market in Mission Bay, where a tipster thought it was odd that this woman had a dog in her shopping cart, something explicitly prohibited. Dogs aren’t allowed in supermarkets. And they certainly shouldn’t be in carts where food goes. We do find the wearing-the-Mercedes-key-as-a-ring fashion choice impressive, however.

%%
Joseph’s Market at Town Center Mall in Boca still has a dog problem. This is the first of two photos sent to us this week from this specific store.

We’ll stick with our dogs-in-supermarkets theme and head over to Joseph’s at Boca Raton Town Center Mall, where the store just can’t seem to do the right thing and stop these shoppers from bringing their dogs into the store. Maybe these are legitimately trained service animals who are completely protected by the ADA. Or maybe they’re people who just are bringing their dogs into supermarkets. Our tipster thought it was odd that the man above had a large dog in the supermarket. We agree, it’s questionable.

%%
Even if the dog in the shopping cart were a legitimate service animal, as seen in Joseph’s at Town Center Mall, our reader wants to know why it’s in a shopping cart. Good question.

Another tipster, also in Joseph’s at Town Center Mall, thought the woman above was odd with her white dog in the shopping cart. Our tipster suggests it’s unlikely that a dog needed to perform lifesaving care would be relegated to a shopping cart that appears to be full of alcohol. We don’t disagree.

%%
This is not a parking space near Macy’s at Boca Raton Town Center Mall. It’s a space for people to utilize wheelchairs and other mobility devices once they park in a legitimate handicapped space. A Mercedes SUV is not really a mobility device.

We’ll move on to parking now, and we’ll start at Boca Raton Town Center Mall. That’s where the driver of this Mercedes, with Florida plate RUR-AB1 decided to create a space by parking in an area designated for handicapped aparatus. It’s next to a handicapped space, and specifically for using wheelchairs or other mobility devices. It’s not for a Mercedes SUV to just park because it’s convenient. Again, that’s Florida plate RURAB1.

This Audi seems to be making the moves on an Acura. The Acura is parked legally. Even with a handicapped tag, the Audi is not.

Next is the fantastic parking job at CVS at Military Trail and Clint Moore. Yes, the Audi does have a handicapped plate. But, that doesn’t mean it can be parked anywhere. We don’t think the Acura is interested in being anything more than friends, but that Audi is so close it sure seems to want a little something. If you see FL plate JV1UI, maybe give it some space. Before it takes yours.

So who is the winner of the coveted Boca Rudeton award for the first week of 2025? There’s no question. It’s the lady with the dog on the table at NY Prime. How rude can anyone possibly be?! Does she really think that anyone in the restaurant — or anyone who may ever go to that restaurant — wants to wonder if her dog climbed on the table where they’re eating $100+ steak? The answer: no! What does she win? We think the cleaning bill from NY Prime, and a doggy bag of whatever comes out of that dog after eating whatever it is eating.

We remind our readers that there is no expectation of privacy in a public place. Don’t want to be seen here? Don’t be rude here! Send your submissions to us using the menu buttons above. Share your thoughts about people in our comment section, below. Boca Rudeton™ is a trademark of MetroDesk Media, LLC. 1. I will make a point not to visit the locations mentioned. You need to fight for your customers and rid your establishments of self centered people who have no respect for the law or for that matter your customers. You need to decide lose a rude self centered individual or lose more for not banning the few disrespectful people

  2. I hope you share these pictures directly with NY PRIME, JOSEPHS, ETC AND THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT. You are doiNg the proper thing by reporting to the HEALTH DEPARTMENT.

  3. I have seen it all !!! The picture of the woman and her dog at NY Prime is the most shocking one here. The dog is completely on the table. I love animals of all kinds, but they don’t belong there. I feel like the picture needs to be forwarded to the manager of the restaurant, and the health dept. as soon as possible. You can’t tell me that the manager didn’t know what was going on.

  4. I must admit I find these articles entertaining. I look forward to them. I know there are quite a few women who discreetly hide their teacup sized dog in a bag and sneak them into restaurants; often while traveling. They never leave the bag. And most would resist the temptation to place their dog on the table. There are doggie take home containers for that purpose. To take leftovers home for your pup. This person is either selfish, under the influence of alcohol, or otherwise not in her right mind. The family should have stopped her. It doesn’t bother me when I see a tiny dog in a shopping cart, in a bag or on blanket. But that’s just me. I remember seeing a large dog in Whole Foods many years ago. I was shocked. I didn’t say anything. Figured it wasn’t my business. Thanks for these rude articles. It is good to smile and laugh in these days. I do think the selfish drivers blocking handicapped cars should be towed and fined the $500.00. People with full sized dogs in stores, should be issued a warning and asked to leave. When so many bring dogs in stores, it gives more and more people the desire to bring their dog too. I have brought my dog to outdoor dining areas, and I am grateful for the option. The tiny ones, in stores, I could turn a blind eye to.

  5. Congrats on giving your readers that will potentially get them facing criminal charges or a civil suit. When you wrote “We know that you are sick and tired of people using their cell phone speakerphone like they’re communicating with Mr. Spock back on the Starship Enterprise. If you see people (or hear people) having conversations on a speakerphone in public, either take a pic or — better yet — take a video.” you clearly didn’t consult an attorney, who would have directed you to Florida statute Fla. Stat. § 934.03(2)(d). The statue makes clear the Interception and disclosure of wire, oral, or electronic communications is prohibited and specifies any person who: Intentionally uses, or endeavors to use, the contents of any wire, oral, or electronic communication, knowing or having reason to know that the information was obtained through the interception of a wire, oral, or electronic communication in violation of this subsection shall be punished as provided in subsection (4). (You can do your own research from there.) I doubt you have the guts to publish this but if you do any reader who records someone else making a phone call — even on speakerphone — is setting themselves up for a lot of trouble.
