Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport Remains Operational.

UPDATE at 10:30 a.m. — The flight was JFK (NY) to FLL. An investigation is now underway as to how the now deceased stow-aways made it into the landing gear of the plane in New York.
BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Two dead bodies were found in the landing gear of a JetBlue plane at Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport late Tuesday night. An investigation is now underway. The Broward Sheriff’s Office provided this statement to BocaNewsNow.com:
“Around 11:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 6, Broward Sheriff’s Office Airport District deputies responded to a call regarding two individuals found in the landing gear area of a JetBlue aircraft at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue also responded. On scene, paramedics pronounced both individuals deceased.
BSO’s Homicide and Crime Scene units responded to investigate the circumstances of the incident, and the investigation is ongoing. The Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office will perform autopsies to determine the causes of death of both individuals.”
It was not immediately clear which flight was involved or its most recent origin. It was also not clear how long the plane had been on the ground when the bodies were found. JetBlue has not issued a statement as of 8 a.m. Tuesday. Check back for updates. Operations are not affected Tuesday morning at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
