BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — If you were attempting to enter the parking lot at the huge Target in West Boynton Beach mid-day Wednesday, only to be turned away by police, we know why. Several readers reached out asking what was going on that led th Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office to let people leave, but no one enter the parking lot at 10201 Hagen Ranch Road. Many people consider the target to be “the Target near West Boynton Beach Boulevard and the Turnpike.”

According to PBSO, someone found a suspicious item either in or near the Target. It was suspicious enough that responding officers decided that at least part of the area needed to be evacuated. The PBSO Bomb Squad was called to the scene. Experts analyzed the package and its contents and ultimately determined it was safe.

The police activity affected the area for roughly an hour. Aside from some frustrated Target shoppers and a bit of a traffic situation, it was ultimately not much of anything. PBSO cleared the scene around 1 p.m. Operations returned to normal at Target a short time later. We do not know exactly what was found, what it looked like, or why it was believed to be suspicious.
